Today is extra special. I’m so excited to introduce you to my twitter bestie, and human fic library, Annie!! *throws confetti* We’re going to share what we’ve been reading this week and then we want to hear from YOU! Yeah, it’s a FREE FOR ALL FRIDAY!

My fic reading has been all over the place this week. I’ve been reading some of the entries in the TwiKinkFest (I’m putting a extreme perv warning on that link. No joke, they mean “kink”. Proceed with caution if easily offended. For the adventurous, there be kinky fun in there.) I’m still loving the daily updates of  last week’s rec, Transcendence and today’s surprise Love in my Box Outtake.

I’ve got a very funny complete rec this week. Annie’s been reading a lot too and has two very new WIPs to share. Join us, and get last week’s poll results, after the jump!

I’m not quite finished reading this but I’ve been enjoying it so much!

It’s important for any private investigator to maintain a good relationship with local law enforcement and it’s representatives.   Therefore, I am always cooperative and polite with Chief Swan.  Also, I try not to drink his daughter Bella’s blood.

This story is ridiculously funny. Like ‘have to stop reading and catch your breath’ funny. This Edward is so appealing in all his “I’m frozen like this” immaturity and earnestness. His relationship with Bella develops slowly and awkwardly – this Bella isn’t necessarily smitten from the start. Or is she? Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 1.

But I still hadn’t developed the obsession with sex that everyone else in the world had. Which would have been cool if I lived with monks or with some power-hungry coven like the Volturi (more on them later). I mean, those guys are more interested in regulating on vampires and mind-fucking each other than sexual shenanigans. But while in my family Rosalie does kind of control Emmett and Alice does control our wardrobes there’s no major power-tripping going on. We pretty much have lots of time to sit around pretending to be human. Which for my siblings and parents means having sex. Loudly. As if I can’t hear their thoughts as well.

Which is not to say that I don’t have women trouble. Just not in the shape of a curvy blonde with a cigarette dangling from her red lips but a petite, brunette high school senior who likes Jane Austen and milkshakes.

And from Chapter 2.

This mystery, on the other hand, is not nearly as much fun. The locked safe of Bella Swan’s brain is dangerous and frustrating. She’s a delicious smelling human whose death would be a major inconvenience not to mention a personal moral low point and a definite political snafu. She evades logic; she’s a studious, shy honor student who doesn’t understand the mechanics of birth control? She’s an enigma with a hooded “Forks High” sweatshirt and pre-natal vitamins and I am, in humiliating fashion, fascinated by her.

It’s silly and fun and dripping with sarcasm and witty Twilight references. I love the twist on Edward’s self-loathing inner dialogue. There is some sweetness too. I can’t wait to get back to reading.

String Theory by  theladyingrey42 (Love Amongst the Ruins)

“Eleven dimensions. Infinite parallel realities. And in all of them, I love her.” Muppets, math, and physicists falling in love. Fluff and eventual lemons. ExB, AH.

What Annie loves about this one: A nerdy, sweet Edward + Quiet, lonely Bella = So many “Aw”s and heart smiles you want to hug the world. I love this fic. It makes me happy! *strews rose petals* (Okay maybe I shouln’t have written this right after reading a first kiss update. lol) -How long since you’ve gotten excited by hand holding? -Beautifully written, sigh inducing.

It’s 12 chaps in and sounds swooooony. I love swoony, it’s my favourite. I will definitely be checking this one out! Thanks, Annie.

Footprints in the Snow by Cosmogirl7481 (Addicted)

“An hour from now, when the snow falls again, it will be like we weren’t even there. But we will remember.” A story of unrequited love, and how the things we keep silent can hurt us and the ones we hold closest. E/B Rated M for themes of an adult nature.

What Annie loves about this one: Author, reason enough to read.(Deb: agree. I think Cosmogirl7481 has been mentioned in every fic post I’ve done so far.) – The gang grew up in a group home together. They reunite every year for the Holidays.E &B’s relationship seems complicated. -Angst alert! It might get messy but it’s gonna be good. This story is updating daily and will complete before Christmas. Five chaps in so you can catch up quick and join the fun, er, angst.

P.S. Last week’s poll results. No surprise really. About 80% of us read both WIP and Complete fic but there is a solid 20% (it was as high as 25% at one point) read completed fic only.
