I haven’t done any BTB posts lately, so I thought I’d play catch up and answer several of the last weeks questions in one post…
So other than books … what periodicals do you read? Magazines? Newspapers? Newsletters? Journals?
Do you subscribe? Or do you buy them on the newsstand when they look interesting?
Magazines- I used to buy People magazine every week, but to be honest in the last year I only buy it on occasion now. If something on the cover strikes my fancy I buy it. I purchase Entertainment Weekly rarely. I do subscribe to bon appétit, Better Homes and Gardens, Budget Travel, and Condé Nast Traveler. I have a few online only subscriptions as well…mostly poetry publications.
Other than my local newspaper I also subscribe to the Wall Street Journal. I started that subscription back when I was attending University because I had a business Professor who suggested it…I may have had a teensy little crush on him…but I have continued it ever since. I get the N.Y. Times delivered on Sunday.
What book(s) have you read that you’re secretly ashamed to admit?
I have NEVER, EVER been ashamed of any book I’ve read…secretly or not. I realize that my taste in books is just that…my taste, and I’m not ashamed of it.
Who taught you to read?
I actually learned how to read before I went to school. I have my maternal grandmother to thank for that. She was a school librarian and she read to me every day.
