Question of the Week: When going on vacay; do you pack your print books, ereader or both?
O…vacay…books…what a perfect duo that is for me…
When going on vacay; do you pack your print books, ereader or both?
I love vacation…well who doesn’t right? Whether it’s a short one…say a long weekend, or a vacation where I’ll be gone a week or more you can be assured that books are going with me.
For my last two big vacations…one was to Disney World in Florida last September, and the other was to TO, Canada in April… I took my paperback copy of Gabriel’s Inferno with me.
I thought the Professor could use a break last September, and for some reason I was quite sure he’d never been to Disney World
I tweeted pictures of him to SR, but I never posted them on my blog…guess what I’m going to do now??? Yeah…you guys are so smart…

Of course he insisted on having his name added…If I remember correctly he muttered something like “They’re MY ears and I want My name on them.”…

The Professor LOVED meeting the Princesses at Cinderella’s Royal Table, and as you can imagine they were all enRAPTUREd by him as well…

Enjoying a lie about on the man made beach near our hotel…The Caribbean Beach Resort…Yes…he brought the purple towel…
That was a great trip, and the Professor had a wonderful time…once he got over the throngs of people and just let himself relax
Mkay…back to the question…
I always take my Kindle and aside from GI, I normally take at least two paperbacks with me.
What about you? E-reader, physical book(s), or both?
Tamie Xo
Here’s a few links from DW:
Caribbean Beach Resort Great place to stay on property.
Cinderella’s Royal Table This is a must if you’re a Princess fan.
Rain Forest Cafe This is the one located at the entrance to the Animal Kingdom.

Love the book, I’m in love with the professor, so much desire and control he has towards his Beatrice. Reading the next book and now their story unfolds.
You’re in very good company. We all love the Professor as well.
Enjoy Gabriel’s Rapture…it’s a fantastic book!
you are so imaginative, i never would have thought to bring the professor to so many places…maybe one of those places could end up in another book if we can get SR to write one
Thank you! I appreciate that.
From your lips to SR’s ears…we need a third book!
Great post Tamie! And beautiful pictures! I love the Mickey ears!
I take The Professor with me when on vacay. I can’t stay away from him…
As for the question, I usually take both my kindle and physical books. I love my kindle but there’s something special about having a real book in your hands.
I was born in FL and have lost track of how many times I’ve been to Disney World. I’m sure the princesses were impressed with Gabriel as much as we are.
I’ve stayed at the Caribbean before too!
I take my iPad everywhere with me, because you never know when you’ll be somewhere bored, wishing for something to read or check emails. For vacations, there is usually a new book that I’ve just received that I want to physically carry with me. I’m hoping to take a vacation in August actually.
Yes…the princesses were all very impressed with Gabriel…who wouldn’t be right?!?
I’ll be taking a few more days off in August before we go into inventory mode where I work.
Then I’ll take a full week off in October…which reminds me…I need to pick the dates for that.
I’m guessing that second week in October??
Um…yes…that would be the week
glad he enjoyed his hollies next time could we share lol
Of course…sharing is caring
I love all the pics! Especially the ones where the book is safely buckled in with a seatbelt and sweetly tucked in bed, LOL – love it. What better way to merge the two loves, Disney the Happiest Place On Earth and one of the best novels on the planet. (We are HUGE Disney fans, too.)
Now, it makes it official, I am ordering the paperbacks of GI/GR as well.
When we travel, I am neurotic, so I bring both my eReader and paperbacks along. My eReader carries a lot more books for me, than a backpack full of paperbacks. But in case my eReader conks out for whatever reason, I will have my paperback to fall back on.
Agreed…love to merge my favorites
I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures. I didn’t plan that post, but when I saw the question the idea just popped into my mind.
I swear I’ve never regretted my decision to have the paperbacks.I actually find it easier to locate things, and I read faster when it’s a real book…not sure why that is tho.
