Interesting topic this week, and funny because a friend was asking me kind of the same question a few days ago…

Question of the Week: Do you have a formula or outline that you follow while writing reviews?

Yes…and no.

1) I always put a photo of the book cover and the synopsis at the top…before the page break.

2) Normally, I put the rating at the end of the review.

3) I usually talk about the main characters right off the bat…most of the time it’s more about the guy…well duh right? But I’ve had good luck lately in really liking the females as well.

Aside from that? It’s up for grabs as to how I write it. It depends on how the book speaks to me…the length of the book, the complexity of the story, the writing, the characters, my mood. Although I take my reviews seriously, I try to make them both fun, informative, and above all honest.

I think that’s about it…
