When Debb (Carol Burnett ear tug) rec’d this on twitter I put it on my TBR list right away. My girl knows her one-shots and she did not disappoint with this one. Summarizing a one shot kind of ruins the experience in my opinion, so I’ll just say that E&B are adults who live and work in New York City. I really like the way the plot unfolds and the writing is excellent. You’re really in Bella’s head, a little confused, a little excited. It’s low angst, sweet and sexy. It’s really just lovely. I enjoyed it very, very much. You will too. I almost forgot, as Bella you get to feel Edward’s ass. Just sayin’. Okay.

College age E&B on summer break. Edward works at the library, Bella visits the library… a lot. Will he get the messages she’s sending through the books she checks out?  If you like books and boys who read them, you will probably like this story.

Excerpt from chapter 3:

When I saw him, I felt something.

Something new.

Something different.

Something…sexual.

So, that was why I chose this book today. He didn’t seem to notice anything about Daughter of Fortune. Although, I guess there was no real hidden meaning there. Even if I did dog ear that page. I just – arrogantly – wanted him to know that I was well-read. Smart even. I mean, he has to be smart, right? He works in a library for god’s sake.

Although, I suppose that it would be supremely unfair for someone to be that gorgeous and intelligent, too.

But today – today I was determined to make a point.

Today I chose Summer.

Yeah, I could have read it on my Kindle. I mean, all of Edith Wharton’s work is public domain now. But I wanted him to notice. And I’m not sure that he did. But if he was watching, and if he has any literary knowledge at all, he’ll know.

Summer is about sexual awakening.

And watching him for the last week has definitely awakened something sexual inside me.

Well of course it did. He’s Edward after all. This story has a bit of banter, a bit of UST and a lot of talking about books. That makes it a WIN for me. Check it out. (Get it? Check it out? Like a library book? Heehee.)
