18 and Over Book Blogger Follow…Say You’re a Beta…

18 and Over is hosted by Reading Between the Wines

Question of the Week: If you could beta read for any author who would it be and why?

When I first read the question for this week…know what my reaction was???

I almost fell down on the floor laughing. The thought of me being a beta for any of the author’s I love? It just so wouldn’t ever happen…but the question has been asked…

First off, does everybody know what a beta is or does? In case you don’t know here’s about the best way I can describe it: A beta is like an editor. They fix spelling and grammatical errors and might make suggestions to the author of how to improve certain points in their story.

Alright…everybody knows who my first choice would be …yes?

Sylvain Reynard…yeah I know…not a shocker for anyone unless you’re new here.

Now as to the why…let’s see… It most certainly isn’t because I think I have mad skillz with punctuation, or in how to tell a story. So in all honesty…how about because he’s my favorite author, and because I’d love to get a sneak peek at what he’s writing? Yup…those would be the real reasons.

For those same reasons I’d volunteer to beta for E.L. James, Sylvia Day, S.C. Stephens, Tammara Webber, Debra Anastasia…and folks I’ve now gone off into fantasy land so I’ll stop. It was good for a giggle though wasn’t it?

Serenity Woods, Amber Scott, if you only count living authors. Robert Heinlein if you count those who have passed.

I already am doing what a lot of you are dreaming about. I am a beta (or pre reader) for the fabulous C.L. Parker, author of the Supernova Saga.
It is fascinating to be on the ground floor, listening to her work through and read each new chapter, but alas! I don’t have the delicious anticipation of waiting for her books to be released! But, that’s just fine by me because I have gained a truly fantastic friend!

I would LOVE to do it for J.R. Ward. She’s such a fun, interesting person, and having the honor of working with her like that…. :) It definitely would be a dream come true!
