Gratitude…to a friend…

Sometimes in our very busy lives we don’t always express our gratitude to friends that make it better, richer. Who help us out when we’re troubled, or need advice. We think that they know how we feel, and maybe they do.

But just in case…I want to take a few moments to make sure…

How can I say how grateful I am?
For the many kindness’ you’ve shown me? For your thoughtfulness?

Many times you’ve made me smile when I was down,
and brightened my day when it was dark.

I’ve sought your counsel, and you’ve given it,
wise words when I needed them, a clear head when mine was cloudy.

Encouragement when I doubted myself. Quiet strength when I felt weak.

I will always hold you in my heart, as a friend that I value greatly.

If you ever need me,
I’ll be there, as you have so often been there for me.
Thank you. I appreciate you. Truly.

That is lovely. You’re right, we should tell people exactly those things. Let them know how much value they have in our life.

That means a lot to me, and that it moved you means even more <3
It is the way I write poetry, or used to…I haven't written any in a long time.
