Book Blogger Confessions…Blogger Relations…

Book Blogger Confessions is hosted by For What it’s Worth

Are there blogs you visit and comment on because you like their style, voice etc.(maybe you even converse with the blogger on Twitter & Facebook) but those comments are never reciprocated on your blog?

Hmmmm…trying to think. Maybe it’s happened a few times, but nothing stands out in my mind.

Do you get a bit offended or do you understand that they may be busy?

Naw…I don’t get offended. I know what a busy life I have…working full time, and Bookish is like another full time job, so I just figure they’re as busy as I am. There are some blogs that I visit a lot, and don’t necessarily leave comments when I’m done, but instead I try to retweet their post on Twitter.

Or do you comment just because you like a post not expecting anything in return?

I don’t expect anything in return. If I love a post on someones blog, and choose to leave a comment…I don’t expect them to run over to Bookish and leave one back.

So peeps…when you leave a comment on a blog, do you expect to always have a comment left in return?

  1. I never expect anything in return. I follow certain blogs daily, but don’t always comment. I do try to tweet it or post on FB though.

  2. No, not at all. I don’t expect a return comment or even a comment in response to my comment. I do know how busy people are. I do appreciate it when someone answers me on Twitter though! Maybe b/c it’s more immediate.

I don’t expect anything in return. I’m insanely busy these days and like you said, running your own blog takes so much time, so I assume it’s the same for everyone else as well.

I do try to return comments when people leave them on my blog but I don’t mind if others don’t reciprocate in return.

Twitter is my main way of communicating these days. I find more links to posts that way and often comment via Twitter rather than on the post.
