I’ve always loved poetry. Poems are to be treasured and they convey such powerful emotions when you read them, at least to me. Kat Bastion’s “Utterly Loved” is one of the most beautiful anthology of love poems I’ve ever read. It’s her debut work of poetry and it delivers flawlessly.
The love poems Kat Bastion wrote and collected in Utterly Loved are beautiful and unique. From the moment I read the first one “the Fall” I knew Kat would have taken me on an unforgettable journey of self exploration, tenderness, passion, love and great emotion.
Each and every poem evokes beautiful imagery and it stirs in you powerful feelings, exactly what love poems should do. Some are about tender lovers, others about passionate lovers, some about the exploration of love, others about seduction, self discovery and so much more. All of them are masterfully written and there’s no doubt Kat Bastion is a truly gifted writer. A good poet is the one who is able to capture your attention completely and make you dream and Kat does exactly that through her words.
Another thing I loved about this poetry collection is that each poem is introduced by a meaningful line that is striking and stays with you. It makes you think and at the same time goes straight to your heart. I highlighted a lot of them, because they are really powerful.
Do yourself a favor and read this wonderful anthology of love poems. Once you’ll turn the last page you’ll feel full of hope, complete, utterly loved.
“Only when we take the leap, unafraid to fall, do we learn to fly” –Kat Bastion.

Tamie’s review: Like Elena, I am a lover of poetry. There’s just something that happens when I read it that is almost unexplainable. It gives me such a deep sense of joy, and a feeling of something within being fulfilled. I remember the first time I saw that Kat had posted a poem on her blog, and I went running to read it. It was wonderful, and inspiring, and it made me feel…that’s what great poetry does…it makes you feel.
Whether its passion, hope, sorrow, understanding or the thousand other emotions we human beings are capable of…a poem should stir you to feel something. Kat’s poems do that for me and I am grateful beyond measure that she has decided to share these poems with all of us.
When Kat decided to publish her collection and donate the profits to charity I wanted to be a part of it in whatever small way I could. It was an honor for us here at Bookish Temptations to be the blog that revealed Sylvain Reynard, my favorite author, as the writer of the foreword to Utterly Loved.
This is a collection of poems that I would highly recommend you read and share with those you love. Buy a copy for yourself and then a few as Christmas presents or stocking stuffers. Not only will you have something full of grace and beauty to read time and again, but you will be supporting two very wonderful charities.
Like Kat, I hope that there is someone in your life that makes you feel utterly loved. Share these poems with that someone.

Wow. Please read a beautiful review of Utterly Loved that brought tears to my eyes. I’m humbly thrilled the poetry evokes as much feeling in others as it did for me. Thank you, Tamie and Elena.

I feel as you do, Elena and Tamie. The emotions are gently spoken, and the purpose is powerful. I think Kat and her hubs are my new favorite couple.
