Do Book Blogs Matter? (Part 2) With Thoughts from E.L. James, Jodi Ellen Malpas, and Enn Bocci

A few more thoughts from me on why book blogs matter, and then I’ll share the thoughts from two more of my favorite authors, E.L. James and Jodi Ellen Malpas, and from publicist, Enn Bocci.

Before I entered the book blogging world I spent a lot of time in book stores…looking at covers…reading the synopsis, and sometimes I’d pick books that rocked my world based on word of mouth through friends and/or family. Many times though I’d buy books and kind of feel like I’d wasted my money. This happens a lot less now that I look to other book bloggers who have the same tastes as I do in books. It’s not a 100% guarantee that because they loved it…that I will too, but I definitely read more books that I end up loving than am disappointed by. Reading is subjective, personal, and intimate really. We all bring different emotions and perspectives to the experience of reading a story… in part because we are as unique and individual as the books themselves.

Will all of you love every book that I think is a must read?!? Nope, but my goal is to provide you with honest, meaningful reviews and other posts that will inspire you to try books that you might not know about otherwise. That’s the common goal that we all have here on Bookish Temptations. Reading is important to us…it’s a passion we want to share with you, and when it comes down to it…that’s why I think book blogs matter.

Here’s what E.L. James, Jodi Ellen Malpas, and Enn Bocci shared on the subject…

What’s in a Name Anyway?!?

Sometimes weird thoughts just come creeping into my brain, ok, ok…not just sometimes, but that’s for another discussion. This one had to do with character names. It wouldn’t get out of my head, so of course what could I do but ask the peeps on twitter for their opinion…

Blast from the Past: A Few of my Favorites…

Something occurred to me yesterday when I was trying to decide what I wanted to write about today. I thought about sharing a rather unsettling experience I had on Friday, but then I decided that it would be way more fun, and uplifting for me to share something happy.

We have a ton of new followers both here on the blog itself and on Twitter, and I wanted to share some of my favorite things from the past. I won’t do it all at once…cuz I kind of enjoy multipart things…yeah…I’m a series girl.

Let’s take a look back into the Bookish vault now…

Break Up to Make Up…My Favorite Reunions…

When my favorite couples break up…either by choice or circumstance…that causes me great anxiety. I am not a huge lover of angst. I prefer small doses of it when administered by an author…say a few chapters at most. Some of my favorite authors don’t oblige me in that respect, but what’s a girl to do?!? The payoff of an author making me an emotional wreck is with a reunion. Some authors do those exceptionally well.

Today, I’m going to share a few of my favorite book reunions…

Best Secondary Book Characters of 2012

Today we’re going to share what is sometimes referred to as the unsung hero of a book…those secondary characters that move the story along in some way, but they don’t get all the glory that the main characters enjoy. They can be good, bad, evil, and sometimes they aren’t even human.

The impact they make can be subtle or in your face, but no matter what they make an important contribution…
