Katiebird Loves Amazing Men Who Write
So I am a serious geek lover. I love super intelligent, talented, creative, funny men. I married a man who fits this description for sure. I guess that doesn’t necessarily make them geeks per say. Maybe it’s MY love of books, tv shows, movies about paranormal, science fiction type stuff. OK fine, I am the geek then. All I know is that some of my favorite books are writing by men. Witty, sarcastic, definitely sexy, men.
Lights! Cameras! Action! These Books Need to be Movies! (Part 1)
You all know by now that Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James and Sempre by JM Darhower are going to be made into movies. I’m very curious and excited to see the adaptations and most of all, I hope they’ll stay true to the books. Yes, because that’s what concerns us readers the most, isn’t it? That some of our favorite scenes will be kept, and that the actors will be able to masterfully portray those characters we fell in love with.
There are a lot of books I’d LOVE to see on the big screen–books that made me dream, cry, laugh and root for the characters from beginning to end.
Here are some of the books that I’m dying to see them turned into movies:
Till death do us part….
I love weddings both in the real world and in the fictional one. Something about white dresses, the ceremony, the vows, the couple declaring their love in front of God and their families… Yes, I get all emotional.
I love it when stories have two lovers marrying each other. Weddings can be at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of a book and I’ve always liked how writers describe the ceremony in different ways, with their own writing style. Some focus on the ceremony, some on the feelings of the couple…I’ve always found that each wedding scene conveys something new and different to the reader and they’re all beautiful and touching.

Goodreads is featuring a contest for book blogs. The voting will begin on Tuesday. I have entered Bookish Temptations. 5 entries were needed for submission and I gotta tell ya that it was really hard to decide which posts to enter. I wanted to show off the versatility of Bookish. We do so many different kinds of posts here and have such a great team that work really hard to bring you stuff that we hope you find both fun and interesting as well as helpful and thought provoking. OMG! This has been the best and the worst day for me. Let’s start with the worst part first…
I forgot my phone this morning, and I didn’t realize it til I got to work…and then when I reached down to take it out of its case and it wasn’t there… can you guess what word came out of my mouth?!? Yep, it was the eff word. I was running a bit behind so going back and getting it was not an option. This was disastrous on so many levels…do you have any idea how long 4 hours without my phone is?!? Yeah ok…4 hours, but it felt like 4 bajillion hours. I know some of you are nodding your head and sympathizing with me…Now comes the best part…

Some upcoming news that I want you to be aware of…
If you somehow missed it…and with all the excitement it generated I’m surprised if you did… SR is writing a Fantasy Date for the Professor and I. Do you have any idea how happy I am about this?!? OMG! I’m beyond happy to be honest…this propelled me straight into the ecstatic stratosphere. Gabriel and Tamie…on a date?!? WoW! When he tweeted THAT stunner?!? I excitedly tried to jump up out of my chair…and instead I slid off of the slippery leather…right onto my…yeah…it wasn’t pretty, but it was pretty funny.
Know what I did yesterday to celebrate this very special event?!? I went out and bought some VERY high heels with the Professor in mind. I gotta tell ya…I haven’t bought heels that high in a really long time, but for him…O yeah!
Don’t worry… I’ll let you know the when of it with plenty of advance notice…so you can take the day off from work. I’m sure we’ll all be useless ;)
In other Gabriel’s Inferno news…SR will also be releasing a teaser from the upcoming sequel here at Bookish Temptations in April…I know you’re all just squirming impatiently to read that…ME TOO!!!

Sexy Sentence Saturday…Gabriel’s Inferno

When I first got the idea for this post it was as a one shot if you will. I was going to list a bunch of my favorite sentences from different books that I have mad love for…So what happened?!? Well…I started going thru my Kindle version of Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard and putting them in a draft…and um… before I knew it I had an entire post, and I wasn’t even a third of the way thru the book yet. So then I had to decide whether I was gonna start eliminating some of them to add in sentences from other books… EEEP!…I just couldn’t do it.
Instead, I’ve decided to feature what I think are the best of the best sentences one favorite book at a time. For now I’ll post them on most of the Saturdays when Morgan isn’t here. Sexy Sentence Saturday… has a nice ring to it eh? Now I gotta be honest with you…not all of the sentences are really what I would call sexy. Hmmm… I guess I could’ve gone with… Satisfying Sentence Saturday… but that just doesn’t have quite the same appeal does it? Lemme know what you guys think…if you’ve got a better title to suggest I’m all ears…actually I have very nicely proportioned ears…
Some of these have been featured in a previous post, altho usually as entire passages not just single sentences…erm…yeah ok…some of them in more than one post. However, they are featured again for these reasons.
1) Lots of peeps get here via search engines- they type in things like- Gabriel’s Inferno quotes, Gabriel’s Inferno passages, etc. and up pops Bookish…SEE
2) There’s lots of new peeps joining us that haven’t been here for those other posts (feel free to check out the archives btw)
3) Well duh…they’re my faves 
Here’s my original intro btw-
I love it when I’m zooming along thru a book and BAM! an author will stun me with a simple sentence. It might be funny, witty, or clever. Perhaps it’s a thought provoking line that stops me cold. Sometimes it’s sensual/romantic/erotic, and often times it’s a descriptive sentence that just blows me away. It might be hidden in a paragraph or it might be stand alone, but it catches my eye, and I reread it, I highlight it in my Kindle, I um…dog ear the page…shhh…don’t tell on me, and I’ve even been known to add them to a special notebook I keep just for that purpose. Only the best of the best go in that.
Still not sure why I’m doing single sentences instead of whole passages? Sometimes we forget how important they can be. We focus so much on the whole that we lose sight of the parts…you understand what I mean by that right?!? When an author is able to grab my attention with a single sentence that makes me pause long enuff to read it over again because it’s so damn good? That my friends is pure unadulterated talent, and I want to celebrate it!
One last thing before y’all dive in…this post covers only the first 20% of the book. Dood! I know! Blame SR for writing so many sentences I floved, and besides, it gives you something to look forward to… in the future…
