18 & Over Book Blogger Follow #2

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that runs over the weekend, hosted by Crystal from  Reading Between the Wines.

This week’s question:

Have you read a romance or erotic novel with an M/M or F/F relationship in it? If so, did you enjoy the read? And if you haven’t, is that something you would read in the future?

I have read a few series that have an M/M story line in it… The Supernova series by CL Parker, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, and the Lord John books by Diana Gabaldon are what come to mind.

Yes, I enjoyed it tho there wasn’t really what I would say was a lot of detail involved as far as sexually. As far as the Supernova series goes I don’t know anybody who doesn’t absolutely love Gabe and want his relationship with Colton to have a HEA. I’d be fine if CL wanted to write scenes with those two involved of a more graphic nature.

I think I speak for many of the people I know who are big fans of the BDB books when I say that we’re anxiously awaiting a full length novel that features the characters in question…Qhuinn and Blay. I will definitely read it and am perfectly fine if it is sexually explicit in nature.

The Lord John books are a spinoff of the Outlander series and even though the main character seeks out males I didn’t think that DG was ever very graphic in any descriptions of his relationships.

I don’t think I’d ever specifically seek out other books with that theme just to read about M/M sex to be honest, but if it happens in a series I follow then I’ll read it. I do know a couple of women that have a preference for reading M/M themed books, so it’s not unknown or surprising to me.

I can’t remember any books specifically that I’ve read with a F/F relationship in it.

So peeps…how do you feel about it?!? Yay…Nay…Doesn’t matter?!?

    You bet I would!

I haven’t been sucked into BDB (something about the “h” in all those names puts me off lol) but I will be diving into the Supernova series soon!!

The only f/f relationship i remember has been in Patricia Cornwell novels, but even then it wasn’t graphic. Kinda glossed over actually

O.Yes…I’d 4gotten abt the Patricia Cornwell novels…the niece right? Not graphic at all.
Yay for reading the Supernova series…you know it’s one of my faves 🙂

Yeah, I think it was the niece. It has been some time since I read them!

Yes! I must read the CL’s work. Hehe I am having a hard time stopping reading Poughkeepsie. I just don’t want to stop reading it! I am such a goober!

Choco I love you and Poughkeepsie loves being read by you so much. Tamie, I would never be put off by a same sex romance in a book I was reading. I love reading about love. Happy day ladies!

Debra!!!!!!! Haven’t seen u in awhile. Mwah!
I love reading about love as well. I think when I was younger I might have been put off by it, but now if it’s written well? I’m just as likely to enjoy it as a “straight” love story.

Baby! I get your wonderfulness delivered to my email, so I’m always reading. I was actually really excited to hear about the m/m aspect of The Brotherhood Series. I *just* started Lover Eternal, so just getting my tits wet with them, but adore the word Ms. ward is building.

        Mmm…Lover Eternal- Rhage…Yummy!

  3. Hi,
New follower. Nice to meet you!
I have never read a strictly F/F book and probably wouldn’t as I really have no interest in that. I have read a few strictly M/M book that I have liked. Mostly the books that I have read with M/M also involve a F. (M/F/M).
    Here is mine:http://bellesbookbag.blogspot.com/2012/04/18-over-book-blogger-follow.html

  4. I can’t really think of any M/M relationships I’ve read outside of manga… but I did like those so I imagine I would like books of that nature.

I would like to read F/F books. I have enjoyed the fanfiction I’ve read in the past, but it would be nice to find it in books. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places!

Just like me, bb! And thanks for the reminder about the Patricia Cornwell books – I’ve read them, too, so I realise I have read F/F – but I have to admit I thought they started going downhill after the whole Lucy subplot came along.

  6. I love the M/M relationships in the BDB series, like Qhuinn and Blay and also I would of loved to see some smexy time between V and Butch, just because they are so connected and V just… *sigh* …love that Brother.
I’ve enjoyed all the side story romances I have read in other books with M/M so I’m not opposed to picking up a strictly M/M novel, just haven’t yet. Though I don’t think I would pick up a F/F.
    Thanks for participating!

  7. Actually have never read M/M or F/F but as long as it is well written, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
