Bookish Announcements: Book Club and Gabriel’s Inferno, Blogiversary, and more…

Summer is over and fall has settled in for a lot of us…crisp mornings and nights. It’s perfect for joining Elena and I on our next book club discussion…

Next Saturday, October 6th we’ll begin reading (ok for us it’s rereading…squared) and discussing one of our most favorite books ever: Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard.

We’ve both been chomping at the bit for this one…hmmm…maybe not the best visual…

We’ve both been replenishing and refreshing our argyle and high heel collections for the ProfessorGabriel Emerson…muucchhh better 😉

Here’s our schedule:

Saturday, October 6th- Chapters 1-8

Saturday, October 13th- Chapters 9-12

Saturday, October 20th- Chapters 13-16

Saturday, October 27th- Chapters 17-20

Saturday, November 3rd- Chapters 21-25

Saturday, November 10th- Chapters 26-31

Saturday, November 17th- Chapters 32-34

During our last discussion we’ll have a little surprise for you 🙂

Our one year blogiversary is October 16th.

We’ll kick off the festivities with a special guest post and giveaway from my favorite author, Sylvain Reynard.

But, the fun won’t stop there because many of our other favorites have graciously agreed to help us celebrate with guest posts and giveaways too. I’ll be sharing our complete lineup with you soon.

And…as a special thank you from me to you…I’ll be doing a giveaway of my own that will be limited to our blog followers.

Shout Out

I just don’t have the time to review all the books I read between ARCs, submissions, and my personal reading list. That means I sometimes miss out on sharing books I enjoyed with you guys. So, I’m starting a new feature this week that I’m going to call…wait for it… Shout Out.

I’ll do a short post with the name of the book, author, synopsis, and why I’m giving it a shout out.

I’m lifting the freeze on unsolicited submissions to Bookish on a limited basis beginning next week.

Also, we’re always open to hosting guest posts, cover reveals, excerpts, deleted scenes, and giveaways.

WoW! That was a lot of announcements 🙂

O…one last thing…y’all know that Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture came out on audiobooks Sept. 27th right?!? Ok, ok…I don’t listen to a lot of books because some of my faves have had narrators that weren’t right for me…a real turnoff to be blunt, but this is not the case for GI and GR. John Morgan’s voice is a complete turn ON…O yeah. So if you were hesitating for any reason? Hesitate no more. When you buy the audiobooks you’ll have the choice to dl them to your PC, MP3, etc., but there’s also the option to burn them to CD’s. I haven’t done that yet, but don’t you worry…I will 🙂

I haven’t read this, but have it on my ereader, so it’ll be new for me and look forward to discussing! I hope it’s a great read. I’ve heard alot of good things about it!

I am sooooooooo happy that this actor isn’t going overboard with Julia’s voice. The mark of a good audio performance. ❤
    I was terrified.

LOL! I was really, really nervous too…mostly because I’ve wanted it for so long. and I was afraid it couldn’t live up to my expectations.
      But, it does. I agree about Julia’s voice…that’s a tricky one for a narrator…both ways 🙂
