Neda Review’s: Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

***Warning*** (This book contains several aspects of the uglier side of life; it is not for everyone.)

The story of Deuce and Eva…

An undeniable connection that stands the test of time.

Unforgettable moments.

Love and pain and everything in between.

I was five years old when I met Deuce, he was twenty-three, and it was visiting day at Riker’s Island. My father, Damon Fox or “Preacher”, the President of the infamous “Silver Demon’s” motorcycle club -mother chapter- in East Village, New York City, was doing a five-year stint for aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon. It was not the first time my father had been in prison and it wouldn’t be the last. The Silver Demon’s MC was a notorious group of criminals who lived by the code of the road and gave modern society and all it entailed a great big f**k you.

“Never forget the day Eva came bouncin’ into my f**ked up life, shakin’ pigtails, singin’ Janis, wearin’ chucks and sharin’ peanuts and straight up stole any decency I had left which wasn’t a whole lot but she f**kin’ took it and I’ve been hers ever since.”

My Review:

“Mark Twain said, ‘The two most important days in your life is the day you were born and the day you find out why’ I don’t remember the day I was born but I remember the day I found out why.  His name was Deuce. He was my ‘why’.  And this is our story.”

It’s not often I can say that the first few sentences in book sucked me in.  Well in the case of “Undeniable” by Madeline Sheehan I can say just that.  You had me at Mark Twain.  No, in all honesty the synopsis got me.  I was so intrigued that I immediately purchased this e-book and devoured it in approximately 4 hours.  Yes peeps it is that good.  Aside from the synopsis the book deals with Motorcycle Clubs, and being a huge fan of the hit television show Son’s of Anarchy, well I couldn’t resist.

First off I am going to start by saying this book is not as disturbing as the synopsis makes you believe.  There is no pedophilia or anything that is that disturbing.  There is one scene of passion when Eva is 16 but other than that she is legal when the relationship really takes to flight.  I had to give that warning because this book is so good that I don’t want anyone not reading it.  Second warning there is some grammatical and spelling errors. Personally this doesn’t bother me, I am an emotional reader as long as the story is powerful and moving the rest is inconsequential to me.

Above all else this is a love story, a beautiful one. It is a story about two emotionally stunted people living in the  societal fringes who find love.  I will go on record to say it is probably one of the best love stories I have read in the last few months.  Lately I had been experiencing reader’s block.  You know that thing where you read a bunch of books and they just don’t do anything for you.  I was reading book after book and nothing. They were good but after I read them I would walk away and feel no pull.  Then one day I was on Amazon and this book showed up, it was two dollars, so I thought to myself what do I have to lose.  Let me tell you this is the best two dollars I have ever spent.

Deuce is a bad boy.  A real one, the President of a motorcycle club.  He is a criminal, a drug dealer, a murderer, you name it and he has done it.  Eva is the daughter of another MC President in another gang.  He is 18 years her senior and their story is beyond heart wrenching, primal, dangerous and wonderful.  This book doesn`t hold back any punches it is raw and honest.  It exposes all the disfunctionality of the characters lives without any apologizes.  Oh can I just add that the love scenes, were out of this world good.  This is one book full of lots of smut and sexy time, good smut.

All I can say is Ms. Sheehan thank you for giving me this great book.  It was intoxicating, suspenseful, intriguing, and left me utterly breathless.  Days after I read this book I would still think about it non stop.  It is worth the read, pick it up, enjoy it, cry, laugh and fan yourself while reading it.

I will leave you with this.  Three songs that I thought perfectly fit this book.

INXS- Disapear A song for Deuce and Eva

Nickleback- Savin’ Me A song for Deuce

Heather Nova- Paper Cup A song for Eva

I give Undeniable 5 Stars
