Temptation by Valentine by Kat Bastion

Thank you, Tamie, for the wonderful opportunity to share a romantic poem with your followers for the Utterly Loved Valentine’s Day Giveaway and your Valentine’s Week celebration.  Below is a poem written specifically for Bookish Temptations for the occasion.
I hope you all enjoy…

Temptation by Valentine
by Kat Bastion

A folded note fell on my lap
At a most conspicuous time
In script the outer page stated
The request in two words… “Be mine”

I lifted the flap with a smile
Hints at mischief setting the tone
Beautiful writing gave the tease
“A surprise awaits you at home…”

Red rose stretched in single long stem
On my sedan’s glossy black hood
Another bread-crumb note revealed
“Have patience. Rewards to the good…”

Chalet threshold held the next clue
On doorknob, a black silk chemise
Roaring fire, card on the mantle
“Put the teddy on, if you please.”

Tealights formed a flickering trail
Chocolate truffles lined the console
Ivory place card, note in ink
Said, “Taste.  A decadent morsel.”

Path followed on barefoot tiptoe
Led straight to a black satin mask
Retrieved from bedroom door ajar
Its tag… “Wear me.  Your final task.”

The treasure hunt riled excitement
Blindfold placed above a slow smile
Warm whisper fanned across my ear
“Relax, we’re going to be awhile…”
