Book Description:

-Something left out, not done, or neglected.

Strong and resilient, Payton has always been able to pick up the pieces of her tragic life and move on, but not without hesitance when it came to letting others in. Until recently, she’s done it alone, but now there’s Garrett, and he wants nothing more than to be in her life. She is finally finding it easier to leave the hurt and fear behind her for good.

Harboring secrets of his own, Garrett knows it is best to stay away from Payton, but knowing and doing are two different things, and he just can’t seem to stay away from her.

An unexpected encounter brought Garrett into Payton’s life. Mutual attraction and eventually love has kept him there, but will secrets and lies prove to be too much for them both? What happens when Payton’s past comes back to haunt her? Will this tear them apart forever?

Katiebird interviews: Shay Savage and Evan Arden from Otherwise Occupied

Checking myself in the door reflection one more time, I step inside the lobby, and make my way to the 676 restaurant and bar in the Omni Hotel. It’s right on Michigan Ave., so it was easy for me to take 147 bus from my home. I am so grateful that Shay agreed to come back to Chicago, and was able to pull some strings to get Evan Arden to meet us here.

Shay Savage-author extraordinaire

Shay Savage-author extraordinaire

God, why am I so nervous? Well, let’s see, Shay Savage is one of my favorite fan fiction authors ever. Probably because she wrote Hide and Drink, I mean I’ve been reading her work for over 4 years now. I dedicated a post to her fan fic work here. But then she got published, and I read Surviving Raine and Otherwise Alone. Again amazing story and character development, check out that review here. *gulp*

High Risk Love by Shannon Mayer

Images. Snapshots in time.

This is how I experience my life. I’ve hidden behind my camera and viewed the world through the lens. I watch other people live their lives. I’ve given up on my dreams, and sheltered my heart from love; because both have given me nothing but pain. Even thinking about opening myself up, sends my fears into overdrive. It’s better to be safe, than to take a risk and have your life shattered into pieces alongside your heart. This is what I believed.

Risks. Fear Nothing.

I live for the rush of adrenaline I get when I work my stunts. Nothing else matters but the feel of my heart pounding when I challenge the line between life and death. Women are nothing more than a distraction; they use me for my connections, as I use them to escape the pain of my past before moving on to my next adrenaline fix. My life is consumed with excitement, danger and risks—it’s all I needed.

Fear. The complete wrong time.

Jasmin and Jet will face off over photos, stunts and the truth hidden in their hearts.  The last person Jasmin wants to be with is a man who takes life for granted.  Jet wants to give his heart to no one; especially one who might not understand the secrets that haunt him. Despite their protests, Jasmin’s and Jet’s lives tangle; the threads of love and fear bind them. Between their passions and their pasts, they fight to hang onto each other . . . but will the stakes be too high when faced with the ultimate sacrifice?

** 18+ for adult situations, sexual situations and language.

Elena reviews: The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

the secret of ella and michaThe Synopsis:

If you loved Beautiful Disaster then you’re ready to discover . . .
A rule-breaker with a fiery attitude, Ella always wore her heart on her sleeve. Then she left everything behind to go to college, where she transformed into someone who follows the rules, keeps everything together, and hides all her problems. Now it’s summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home. But once there, Ella fears that everything she’s worked so hard to bury might resurface-especially with Micha living right next door.

Smart, sexy, and confident, Micha can get under Ella’s skin like no one else. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. If he tries to tempt the old Ella to return, he will be impossible to resist. But what Ella doesn’t realize is that when she left, she took a piece of Micha’s heart with her. Now he’s determined to win back the girl he lost, no matter what it takes.
My review:
When I finished “The Secret of Ella and Micha”, I stood there looking at the cover for a long time and thinking “Where has this book been all this time and why I didn’t read it sooner?” I’d heard a lot of buzz on this story, and I’d downloaded it to my kindle, but for some reason never got round to read it. Until a couple of days ago. I have to stay that it’s been one of the finest purchases I’ve ever done. This story owns me in ways I didn’t expect it would.
