Her sisters have found wedded bliss with their wealthy,
wonderful dream men, but not Julietta Conte. She’s stayed
on terra firma as top executive of the family’s corporation,
La Dolce Famiglia bakery. Work is her passion, and her
trendy Milan apartment her sanctuary . . . until Sawyer
Wells, a masculine masterpiece in a suit, lures her out of
hiding with an irresistible offer: an exclusive partnership
with his international chain of boutique hotels.
Julietta’s been burned before—and trusting her brother-in-
law’s friend, whose powerful gaze alone has her
rethinking the best use of a conference room, is the
riskiest proposition. But with a once-in-a-career chance
to take the bakery global, will she mix stone-cold business
with red-hot seduction?
The Marriage Merger is the fourth book in the Married to a Billionaire Series. I must say that Ms. Probst saved the best for the last. I truly enjoyed the first three books about the Conte family but this one is my favorite.
This love story has well written characters, humor, family, emotions, and a little kink when it comes to the sex. It is truly a recipe for a fantastic read.
Julietta is the strong female lead in this story. She is the last sister in the Conte family left to marry. Her life consists of business. She is a workaholic. She runs the family bakery empire and even has a surprising hobby in her spare time. Her previous relationships have left her damaged and doubtful that love can fit into her life. Until one night…Julietta gives in and tries this Love Spell to satisfy her sisters.
Sawyer is the strong Alpha Male in this story. He is focused on his business and his new hotel chain. He loves women but love is not part of his long-term plan. Just like Julietta, Sawyer is damaged. His damages are both emotional and physical and his past life haunts him.
A business relationship/merger brings Julietta and Wolfe together. Both strong-willed and driven, these two make a great business team. As their business relationship flourishes, so does their connection. Mixing business and pleasure can be dangerous when it comes to attraction.
I think what I loved the most about this story is that both of the characters are so well made for each other. Sawyer brings out the hidden sexual desire Julietta had yet to discover. Julietta helps Sawyer discover his own emotions as well as experiencing love and family. They are such a perfect fit.
Sawyer’s assistant Wolfe is another character I really enjoyed watching grow. Wolfe and Sawyer share similar pasts. Because of this, they grow close and look after each other while helping each other emotionally. Wolfe becomes Sawyer’s protégée. He too learns about love and family with the help of Julietta and Sawyer.
I can’t forget to mention Mama Conte. She plays a major role in this story. I just adore this wise older Italian woman. She holds the key to keeping her family together. She is the glue that joins and binds them. For me, she is the brains in the family operation, watching over and making sure everyone is alright. She is probably the most significant character in this family.
I loved how the other family members reappeared in this story. It was enjoyable to read about what they were up to. Some unknown important details were confessed when the ladies were all together. And, even the men in the family had their moments and were enjoyable to read about.
Julietta and Sawyer make a great couple. Whether it was the love spell or not, both learn to love, to heal and grow together.
I always say that a great story captures the reader and keeps them hooked, makes them smile while they are reading and even cheer for the characters when needed. That is how I felt when I read the Marriage Merger.
I gave this story 5 stars!!
