I’ve got a few my favorite entries for you today.
I’ve Lost My Bed Can I Borrow Yours by Fiyahh
He’s hot, spicy Indian takeout, and I’m a bowl of oatmeal. Without any sugar or honey to get rid of that cardboard taste. 34 year old Bella thinks she’s met her very own Jordan Catalano, but will she be able to deal with the age gap, his cheesy pickup lines and the Monster-In-Law?
Nirvana Next Door by Boom Boom Jones
“I am going to make myself known to Bella Swan and rock her sexy little world.” Edward Masen is seventeen, restricted to four walls, and hormonally stimulated. What else is there besides Bella Swan, the new star of his nightly dreams?
Revenge Is Best Served in the Buff by maliciouspixie5
I have a temper like a flare gun and Alice Brandon is a vengeful, conniving imp. This is what led to the Forks Fiasco of 2013 also known as the day the adults of Forks First Self Righteous Church were hypnotized and ‘liberated’ of all their inhibitions. Sexual chaos ensues. I’m sure that Forks will never forget Edwards’ and my contribution to the fun and festivities.
I’ve also got an oldie but goodie rec for you. We Were Here by lolapops
Upon waking, there’s a brief, blissful period in which you don’t yet recall the sins of the night before, but eventually, you have to open your eyes. I’m Bella Swan, seventeen years old, cheerleader. This morning I woke up in the wrong bed.
Here’s a little angst to balance those funny one shots. Edward and Bella are from opposite sides of the tracks, so to speak. She’s a cheerleader, he’s been in trouble for writing graffiti on trains. Yet, they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Interesting how that works, right? They both have difficult lives in their own way.
For instance, Edward has been arrested before for writing graffiti and has promised not to do it again, but…
Excerpt from chapter 6:
“What’s ‘getting up’?”
We pull up to a light, but he doesn’t look over at me even though we’re stopped. “Writing…tagging.”
“Are you doing that again?”
I can tell from the look on his face that he is and have to suppress a combination of anger and arousal. I totally get how fucked up that is but… whatever.
He answers reluctantly, meeting my eyes before turning back to the road.
I think about that. For a few weeks he’s been going out in the middle of the night, doing something that he’s made clear is dangerous. And he did all this without even telling me. I stare out the window.
I am so fucking tired of feeling naive.
“Hey,” he says, reaching over to touch my hand before he has to shift again.
“Can we talk about this later?” I say, still looking out the window. The more I think about it, the more hurt I am, and the less I feel like being in this car right now.
An omission is a lie-a silent lie, but a lie nonetheless. He doesn’t say anything, and I don’t turn to see the look on his face.
Uh oh. Not good Edward. The story follows them past high school and through some serious drama involving themselves, friends and loved ones. I just reread it for this post, and liked it even more than before when I read it as a WIP. I like the angst level, not too much, but yeah, stuff happens. They’re human; they have stuff to work through.
Check out the author’s profile for an EPOV of the first chapter. Enjoy!
Thanks Annie!! Have a great weekend everyone. 🙂
