Tamie Reviews: Wethering the Storm by Samantha Towle

The synopsis:

Music journalist Tru Bennett has done the impossible: capture the heart of rock-star bad boy Jake Wethers. Now they’re busy planning a wedding and navigating their new life together in the US. Of course Tru misses London and her best friend, Simone, but living happily ever after with Jake in LA is going to be great…right?

Wrong. Even the bright California sun can’t whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake’s wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn’t want kids, which just may be a deal breaker.

Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they’ve fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough?

My review:

This is another book I was scared to read…only because I love Jake and Tru so much and after what they went through in the first book I wasn’t sure my heart could handle a whole lot more. I’m a huge fan of Samantha Towle’s writing, so i knew I wouldn’t be disappointed, and I was right!

The book is fanfuckingtastic. There’s a reason that Jake is on my list of favorite rocker book boyfriends. He was even better in this second book than the first for many reasons. I can’t give you a whole lot of detail on that because I don’t do spoilers, but let me just say that when the chips are down this time…Jake comes through in ways so huge I just wanted to climb in the book and squeeze him.

I was so worried that he’d screw up in a major way, but this time he’s strong enough to deal with things. I honestly believe that the thought of ever losing Tru again is enough to make the right choices…not that Jake doesn’t struggle…of course he does, but you will be more in love with him than ever after you read this book.

If there’s a couple that deserves a HEA it’s Jake and Tru. Love is usually not easy, but it’s definitely worth taking the chance when you find your soul mate as this couple has…

A few favorite quotes:

“There is no one else for me. I begin and end with you.”

“We’re out in the open. Dave is at the top of the track, playing guard. I’m blindfolded by my own top, and Jake is about to make love to me on his sexy Aston Martin with “Pour Some Sugar on Me” playing in the background.
Could he be any fucking hotter?”

“Taking my hand, he rests it over his T-shirt, over his heart. “You hold this in the palm of your hand. You are the only woman who has ever had it, and ever will. You own me, Tru.”

“There isn’t anything I won’t do for you, Tru. Nothing I won’t do to make you happy. What I feel for you… it’s limitless. There is nothing before or after you. There is only you.”

“So anyway, chica, this David Gandy dude…is he hot?”
“Oh, so totally and completely hot.” I nod enthusiastically.
“Uhum,” Jake clears his throat loudly.
“But not as hot as you, baby.”
“Damn straight,” Jake mutters.”

My rating for Wethering the Storm by Samantha Towle:

5 fabulous hearts all the way!
