Why Autumn is the Most Romantic Season
By, Mina Vaughn
When you think romance, certain times of year come to mind. Winter’s got snuggly fires and Christmas engagements, spring is when flowers bloom and new love finds root, and summer is perfect for bikinis, campfires and flings.
Why, then, do I think autumn is the most romantic season?
Grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte and find out.
First off, it’s spooky. I love Halloween and all things paranormal. Scary movies and haunted theme parks make for superb snuggling. Who doesn’t want to cuddle up with a hottie and cling to him while you block your eyes during a scary scene, or, better yet, have him block your eyes and get a little frisky when the lights go down.
And as for paranormal romance, nothing does it for my libido like a good vampire. Seriously, I love them all. I cut my fangs on Buffy and Angel as a teen, and then grew to love Edward and Damon and Eric Northman as an adult. So is October romantic, oh hell yes! It’s when my favorite breed of men come out! Of course, my William from my debut How to Discipline Your Vampire is quite the supernatural catch for any time of year, but especially during Halloween-time because the man is a master of role play and could find a costume for any party.
Another reason fall is romantic? The food and drink! Warm and spicy drinks and dishes like squash ravioli and pumpkin beer are perfect for love. Cinnamon tastes great on your breath and I’ve heard nutmeg is an aphrodisiac. Recipe for smooching, coming right up!
Lastly, the air is starting to cool from summer’s heat, and I for one am always colder in the fall than I am in the winter. By winter, you’re already tired of your sweaters and boots, but in the fall they’re new and exciting and you feel super sexy to change up your summer wardrobe.
So, pick up a few scary movies and make up a few pumpkin beers with cinnamon and sugar rims and have a nice spooky night with the man or vamp in your life. You can thank me later!
