Shout Out: Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover

A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love comes with conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Especially when the two loves of his life end up being one in the same.

Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

Although I won’t be writing a full review I have to say a few things about this novella. Normally, I don’t read many novellas because I like my books like I like my men…big…take that as you will 😉

Y’all know what a huge fan of Colleen Hoover‘s writing I am, and Finding Cinderella is no different. It may be short, but it’s still chock full of great reading. It’s fun and romantic, yet it still packs a powerful emotional punch in a few places. This is the short story of Daniel and Six. If you’ve read Hopeless and Losing Hope you’ll truly enjoy reading about these characters that you already know. Holder and Sky make some appearances too which I loved.

Even tho I really liked both Daniel and Six in the other books, it was a real treat to get to know them even better, and I for one would love it if they got a full length treatment at some point. I think they make a great couple and that you’ll be rooting for them to be one as much as I was.

The novella can be read as a stand alone, but I think you’ll enjoy it immeasurably more if you read Hopeless and/or Losing Hope first. Either way…I’m recommending it with this shout out.

Finding Cinderella gets 5 hearts from me.

P.S. It’s free!!! Free I said!

I so loved this story, it is a wonderful and beautiful story. I couldn’t put it down. A wonderful treat after reading Hopeless and Loosing Hope. A lovely story to read over and over again.

  3. I adored the story of Daniel and Six. Totally blind sided by what happened though. I didn’t see that coming!
