This is my first post of 2014, so I wanted to wish you all an amazing New Year full of joy, love and, of course, great reading material! 😉
Today I’m sharing with you my love for two other awesome Book Boyfriends of mine…Kayden Owens from The Coincidence Series by Jessica Sorensen and Weston Michels from Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken.
My Kayden Owens: Danny Schwarz
Why do I love Kayden?
There’s a lot to love about Kayden…He made the list of my Favorite Book Boyfriends of 2013, and if you haven’t met him yet, I’m urging you to do so. He’s a broken guy, who knows what it means to have scars, both on the inside and on the outside. He’s convinced he’ll never reach happiness, because his family has always made him feel unlovable and unworthy of anything good. But Callie enters his life and she turns his world upside down. She becomes his everything and the love he feels for her is so intense, that he never wants to let her go. He stays with her through her life journey, where she has to face her own demons…He never gives up on her and he Loves her, with a capital L. Oh yes, and did I mention that he’s handsome? Because he is. Very.
Some of my favorite Kayden quotes:
“That’s you. Callie, you’re the only person that’s ever made me feel happy about anything. That night you saved me, you changed something in me—you made me want to live.”
“I take my time because I love how it feels to carry her, the way she needs me, the way I need to protect her.”
“I like the sober Callie, the one that I can talk to. The one that is so sweet it’s fucking adorable. The one that trembles from the feel of my breath. The one that I want to kiss and touch so fucking badly it drives me crazy. The one that makes me feel things…”
My Weston Michels: Davin Paisley
Why do I love Weston?
Weston Michels is one of my top favorite Book Boyfriends ever, and like Kayden, he entered the list of my Favorite Book Boyfriends of 2013. Weston is simply an AMAZING character. When I finished Ruin, I found myself with no adequate words to describe the awesomeness of this male character. He’s everything a girl could ever desire. He’s extremely smart, unbelievably handsome, but what I love the most about Weston is his heart and his wonderful soul. He’s very down to earth, and he’s already gone through a lot pain in his life…When he meets Kiersten, she becomes the centre of his universe, and he wants to make her feel alive, make her experience all the beautiful things in life. He’s very wise, beyond his years, and the way he helps Kiersten heal her emotional wounds make my heart melt. The words he says to her are true life lessons…
Some of my favorite Weston quotes:
“Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, alive or dead, young or old, my heart will always be with yours. Every beat you feel against your fingertips…” His fingers tapped against my chest, once, twice. “… is me calling out to you. It’s you returning the call. It’s us talking, communicating, bonding, sharing, Living — Kiersten, it’s us living.”
“I can tell you have a good heart…” I sighed, opening the door to the outside.” … because the minute I met you, I wanted to fight for it.”
“Just because you need help to cope doesn’t make you any less strong. The truly weak people in this life are the ones who can’t admit they need help. They’re the ones who can’t admit that they can no longer go at it alone. Those are the people who are weak. By asking for help, by taking help, you’ve just admitted your weakness and in that, you find your strength. The weak of the world are those who think they’ve got it all figured out and flaunt it to others.”
“I’m going to make it so hard for you to forget this first kiss that you don’t want anyone else kissing you ever again. When the guy you fall in love with kisses you — it better put this kiss to shame — if it doesn’t, then he isn’t the right guy. Because I’m going to do a damn good job, and I want the guy that earns you, that takes that heart of yours and holds it in the palm of his hands… I want that guy to be able to make you feel things I’ll just be tapping into. Do you understand, Kiersten?”
What do you think of these two characters? And what are your Tuesday Crushes?
