Outlander Fans! The First Trailer Has Released!!!

Starz has released the first trailer for Outlander and it is stunning!

It was revealed during the Outlander Fan Event in Los Angeles which was held on Saturday night.  The panel consisted of executive producer Ronald D. Moore, Caitriona Balfe, Sam Hueghan and author Diana Gabaldon. There was a live stream of the event which is supposed to be available for at least 48 hours. Here’s the link

Now let’s check out that video…

I’ve been a huge fan of this book series for many years now, and everything I’ve seen leads me to believe that the Starz production is going to make fans very happy. Personally, I was glad to see it being done as a television series rather than a movie or movies. The books are very detailed and long, and I just don’t think a movie could possibly do it justice.

You can follow the totally yummy Sam Hueghan on twitter 🙂

There’s also a great article in the L.A. Times that you can read here.

I watched the video that STARZ put on. It renewed my interest in the first book which I put down after reading it for a while. I found it dragged on.However, after listening to Diana Gabaldon, Claire & Jamie, it perked my interest again. I will continue to read it. I had no idea she wrote it so many years ago, in addition to the fact Diana is 62 years young. She’s amazing! I giggled when she snubbed FSOG and the like. I was glad it wasn’t SR’s series. I’m looking forward to watching it on STARZ.

I loved all the books, but they’re not for every one.
Maybe you’ll enjoy it more this time around.
I was surprised and disappointed in the snub from one writer to another.
I would’ve preferred her just to say she hadn’t read either FSoG or Twilight.

I agree, Tamie about her snubbing another author. I’ve never seen that done before. I think it shows her arrogance. I thought she displayed this with Jamie as well, and saw him wince. It’s not a nice quality for an author.

I agree too. She is a remarkable author and entitled to her opinions but I was disppointed by her public disdain of the other authors in this forum.

I adore this series. I watched the Outlander Fan Event and I’m sure the Starz production will do the books proud. The trailer is impressive! 🙂

  4. I absolutelly LOVED the trayler!! Well… Abt Diana’s comment abt FSOG… having already seen and read several interviews Diana for many years, I interpreted as a joke, she has a sense of spicy humor, we can notice even in jokes she makes abt everyone and everything. It’s a sarcastic sense of mood and not purposeful, in my POV!

  5. BTW, often we hear a person talking over an hour about various things and just chose to highlight the negative aspects. I also think it is a personality trait. she is not the type thhat whose principle is to be gentle and “politics” with anyone, not with fans. Say that was lucky not to have read something (that’s what she said, was not it?) Is also not so serious. With all due respect, I think she has every right to not like a certain genre of writing and feel herself lucky for havent read, although I think it is a prejudice of her…
