It wouldn’t truly be Valentines day here on Bookish Temptations without Sylvain Reynard, and so I’m beyond excited to share something very special from the Professor himself. Get ready to get your swoon on ladies…
Last year, I celebrated Valentine’s Day with Julianne by indulging in a little Chocolate Body Paint. ( http://www.sylvainreynard.com/2013/02/gabriel-julias-valentines-day-outtake.html)
I take time planning our times together, paying attention to details. This year, my goal is to tantalize and please her five senses.
Sight –I’m fortunate that Julianne enjoys wearing beautiful clothes almost as much as I admire her wearing them. This year I’ve chosen something provocative that we can both enjoy:
Once I’ve presented Julianne with her Valentine gifts, I move our celebration to the kitchen. I’ve already chosen music for our evening, and I’ve ensured that the first song is playing.
Sound -I can’t help but pull her into my arms while the music soars around us.
Scent – I’ve also ensured that a few candles are burning, filling the air with the Scent of Satsuma and Sandalwood. I chose these scents because they remind us of our first night together. And that alone sets a special mood.
Then I’ll tell Julianne that we’ll be doing some cooking …
Taste –We’ll work together to prepare a special dessert we first had in Sardinia while on holiday together.
We take blood oranges and peel them, removing the pith. Then we divide them into sections and place them in a bowl, tossing them lightly (together) to release some of their juice.
We take a bar of dark chocolate, and after sampling a piece or two, we break the bar over the orange sections, tossing everything together.
Then we take some extra virgin olive oil and drizzle it over the top of the orange and chocolate. Finally, we sprinkle a small amount of cracked black pepper over the top.
I’ll leave it to your imagination what comes next, but rest assured, it will be delicious.
At this point in the evening, I’m pouring a glass of champagne for Julianne and something non-alcoholic for myself. Then I take her upstairs to our bedroom where we commence the final part of our celebration – Touch.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Everyone.
