Elena’s Picks: Say it with a Kiss… (#4)

It’s been a while since I last shared some of my favorite kissing scenes in books. Those who have been following my posts know that a kissing scene conveys something to me when it’s well written, when I can feel the chemistry between the characters (you can find my previous posts here: part one, part two, part three). Authors have their own ways of writing them and it’s always interesting to see how every writer approaches a kissing scene.

So here are other kissing scenes that I find absolutely amazing.

Gabriel’s Redemption by Sylvain Reynard

“He took his time admiring his wife’s beauty, visible even in the shadows: the arch of her cheekbones, the pout of her mouth, her large, expressive eyes. He lifted her chin and brought their lips together. It was the kiss of an ardent lover, communicating with his mouth that he desired her. Gabriel pressed his tall body against her petite one, his fingers tangling in her soft brown her…”

Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting

“Her hands glided along the sides of my neck and into my hair. She pulled me closer and strained upward. I started off slow and searching, because I needed to keep myself in check now more than ever. Her mouth was sweet, and her velvet tongue came out to touch mine, tasting, testing, tentative…meeting the silver ball and exploring the feel and texture as I did the same. Despite my desire to savor the experince, Tenley’s fingers tightened painfully in my hair. Her nails scratched my scalp as she tried to get closer. Relinquishing my already limited restraint, I snaked an arm around her waist and deepened the kiss…”

Monster in His Eyes by JM Darhower

” ‘Only a fool would be bothered by being with you. ‘
Those words make my heart skip a beat. I exhale shakily as he leans down and kisses me, softly and sweetly, over and over again. He pulls back after a moment, still holding me in place, but I’m not ready for the moment to end. Instictively, my hand moves to his head, fingers running through his hair, as I force him right back to me. He chuckles, not fighting it, and kisses me deeper. Soft and sweet turns firm and frenzied, the once feather light kisses now brutalizing my lips. I’m not sure which way I prefer it. One way makes my heart flutter; the other sets my chest aflame…”

Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros

“There was no pause, no decision to be made, no slow approach. Josh moved in, and his mouth consumed mine. He tasted like tequila and lime…and something sweeter, darker. His tongue swept out against my lips and I let him in, begged him in. He filled my mouth, stroking the most sensitive spots and retreating only to return. I couldn’t hold back the moan that escaped as his mouth slanted over mine again. I arched into him, bringing my breasts in contact with his chest, and he made a sound like a growl. It was a heady feeling, that power, and I knew I would do whatever I needed to hear it again.”

Fearless by Rachel Van Dyken

“Our mouths collided, meeting in the middle. Kind of how our relatuonship was, the perfect give and take. My fingers dug into Kiersten’s hair as I pulled her closer to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck. I couldn’t stop kissing her. Time paused for me — in that moment it was like the sun had stopped shining, the earth had stopped its movement on its axis…”

Are you still breathing? 😉 I’ll share more soon…

All the books I mentioned in this post are on my Favorites list, and I highly encourage you to check them out.

Feel free to share in the comments those kisses in books that make you all hot and bothered 🙂
