Musing Mondays: “Kindness is NEVER Wasted”

a musingmondays

A lot of you know that the quote “Kindness is never wasted.” comes from one of my all time favorite books and authors…Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard. Those 4 words are so simple, yet so very true. They mean a lot to me personally…

It’s so easy to get caught up in life’s day-to-day drama’s and disappointments. We get bombarded by ugly news reports, we see it in our timelines on social media, we have a day from hell at work, we don’t feel good…it goes on and on, and it’s easy to forget to take a minute or two to take a deep breath and focus on the positive. I’ve been guilty of that myself.

I’m so lucky that I have treasured friends who remind me by their words and deeds that there is great goodness and kindness in the world. Yesterday, I was on the receiving end of many acts of kindness, but there were two that especially struck me by separate people who mean a lot personally. I won’t embarrass them by sharing their names or giving the details, but it meant the world to me. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

It isn’t easy for some of us to reach out and ask for what we need…a hug, a kind word, a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us, but thankfully there are those who do it because that’s the type of person they are. I want to be that type of person more often and I hope you do too. Instead of always being “In it to win it” let’s be in it together and remember that phrase, “Kindness is never wasted” and to try to live it on a daily basis!

So very well said! Sylvain Reynard’s writing inspired me to be a bit more like Julia….and just understanding that bad things happen to good people….he truly wrote her character so well. I too have been blessed recently with some random acts of kindness. We must always strive to pay it forward!
