For Damien, our obsession is a game. For me, it is fiercely, blindingly, real.
Damien Stark’s need is palpable—his need for pleasure, his need for control, his need for me. Beautiful and brilliant yet tortured at his core, he is in every way my match. I have agreed to be his alone, and now I want him to be fully mine. I want us to possess each other beyond the sweetest edge of our ecstasy, into the deepest desires of our souls. To let the fire that burns between us consume us both.
But there are dark places within Damien that not even our wildest passion can touch. I yearn to know his secrets, yearn for him to surrender to me as I have surrendered to him. But our troubled pasts will either bind us close . . . or shatter us completely. This sexy, emotionally charged romance continues the story of Damien Stark, the powerful multimillionaire who’s never had to take “no” for an answer, and Nikki Fairchild, the Southern belle who only says “yes” on her own terms.
Our desire runs deep. But our secrets cut close. Beautiful, strong, and commanding, Damien Stark fills a void in me that no other man can touch. His fierce cravings push me beyond the brink of bliss—and unleash a wild passion that utterly consumes us both.
Yet beneath his need for dominance, he carries the wounds of a painful past. Haunted by a legacy of dark secrets and broken trust, he seeks release in our shared ecstasy, the heat between us burning stronger each day.
Our attraction is undeniable, our obsession inevitable. Yet not even Damien can run from his ghosts, or shield us from the dangers yet to come.
** If you haven’t read Release Me and Claim Me – there may be some story line spoilers for the first two books.**
Complete Me is the final installment of the Stark Trilogy. It’s an incredibly romantic and very sexy conclusion to Nikki and Damien’s rocky journey to finally overcome their pasts and create a future together. Personally, I got everything I wanted in this last book; the drama, love, anger, sadness and the ending are all perfect. All three books have been wonderful and I’m a little sad to see it end. Once again we get to see what a wonderful writer J. Kenner is. This book will shock you, makes you giggling like a teenage girl and sometimes it breaks your heart.
It picks up right where the second book left off: Damien and Nikki are in Germany as Damien prepares to stand trial for murder. While their love for each other is real and powerful, their passion steamy and intense, because of all the problems that Damien has to deal with he’s distancing himself from Nikki. My heart breaks for Nikki, all she wants is Damien and it seems like every time she gets close to him he pulls away. Although Nikki is scared to death, she continues to be brave and stand by his man.
We learn everything there is to know about Damien in Complete Me. Questions that we asked since the beginning are answered; his big secrets, his childhood story, the reason why he left his career as a professional tennis player and whether or not Damien and Nikki can make it as a couple. Damien is one of my favorite alpha male heroes. He’s hot, powerful, caring, controlling and yet gentle. In Complete Me, we get to see the other side of Damien where he’s a vulnerable man with scars and flaws. But all of that just makes me love him more.
Nikki really wants to overcome her past, while being there for Damien. She supports him and stays with him throughout everything. I admire her strength and loyalty, she fights not only her own demons, but Damien’s as well.
I’m so proud and happy watching one of my favorite couples continue to grow and become stronger as individuals and as a couple. You can’t help but root for Damien and Nikki’s happy ending, two flawed and much damaged people who come together so perfectly. As for the plot, Complete Me had me shocked more than once and the suspense of not knowing what was going to happen really excites me. It keeps me constantly on edge waiting for something huge to happen.
I definitely enjoyed this book and satisfied that I got the closure that I needed after embarking on this series. The only thing I wish was a little different is the ending. Although the ending leaves us in a good place, I was hoping for more of a further down the line epilogue. Regardless, I still think Stark Trilogy is one of the best erotic romances I’ve read.
“At the end of the day, it’s just you and me. We make our own reality, Nikki. And no one can take it from us. You and I are together, and we can withstand whatever the world throws at us.”
“You’re what gives me strength. If I am what centers you, Nikki, then you are what anchors me. Every time I touch you, every time I bury myself deep inside you—Nikki, don’t you see?
You are the talisman of my life, and if I lose my grip on you, then I have lost myself.”
“Fuck my billions, Ms. Fairchild. All I care about is you.”
“I have no intention of leaving Damien, and I believe he has no intention of leaving me. But I can’t shake the fear that despite what we want, fate has other plans. Damien might be the strongest man I know, but can he fight the whole world?”
“I nod, understanding the unspoken message: No matter what, he will never stop looking out for me. I can’t argue with him about that, after all, I feel the same way.”
