Katiebird’s Mid Year Favorites

While pondering on what I should read next, I decided to go back over what I’ve read so far this year. Then it hit me, we are at the mid year mark for 2014!

I am definitely a list maker, especially when it involves my favorite things, like books I’ve read. Here are my Mid Year Top 5 favorite books for 2014.

Honestly, it is just too difficult to decide which book I love the most, so these are not in any particular order…

Breakable by Tammara Webber

I am not going to repeat what has already been said by Tamie and Elena about how incredible this book is, BUT I will say that I got the audio version, and Zachary, the author’s son, did an amazing job as narrator. The subtle nuances between Landon and Lucas were brilliant. It bares repeating. BRILLIANT. If you loved Easy, but held off on reading this because you thought it was a rehashing of that story, you are mistaken. I implore you to Read. This. Book.

Rusty Nailed cover

Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton

Simon Parker and Clive are my main reasons for reading and recommending this book. Alice knows how to write funny. Check out my review here.

City of Heavenly Fire

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Still get a lump in my throat when I think about this series. I kind of love this book, like it’s a person. Simon Lewis is a bad ass, and he’s all mine. LOL

Clipped Wings Cover

Inked Armor cover

Clipped Wings and Inked Armor by Helena Hunting

If you haven’t read this books yet, then what the hell? You shouldn’t leave Hayden Stryker waiting…Check out my reviews here and here.

Still Live with Strings cover

Still Life with Strings by LH Cosway

Man. Oh Man. Amazing writing with visuals that can’t be described with my mere words. So well done and unexpected. Can’t wait to read Ms. Cosway’s next book. Check out my review here.

Honorable Mentions (Don’t be surprised if you see these books again on my end of year favorites list):

Better Deed than Words cover

Better Deeds Than Words by Georgina Guthrie

Four Seconds to Lose cover

Four Seconds to Lose by KA Tucker

The Plan by Qwen Salsbury

I would love to know what your favorites are for 2014. Are there any books you are looking forward to reading this year?

My favorites are Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young and Clipped Wings & Inked Armor by Helena Hunting. And now I’m reading Sempre by J.M. Darhower and I’m loving it. Maybe it could be a new favorite ❤
