In this fun and saucy romance novel, all-star college basketball player Thea dominates on the courts-and off-with a rock star who is determined to win her over.

Thea is a star basketball player at UConn on track to be the Rookie of the Year. That is, if she can stay focused on the game. Lately that hasn’t been going so well, as her knee has been bothering her. But that’s not the only thing on her mind…

Ever since rock star Keaton Lowe surprised her in the girl’s locker room, Thea can’t stop thinkingabout him. On top of his status and enticing ways, he seems to know everything about her. But some of his actions cross the line, and Keaton needs to be published. Will Thea keep her head in the game, or get distracted by her other favortie pastime–reprimanding her rock star?

Katiebird's review

If you are looking for a not so serious read about a young woman discovering her Domme side while chasing after an English rock star, then this is the book for you! Here is my take on this fun, but kinky read.

Thea finds herself in her college basketball team’s locker room looking for her “lucky” tape, while the arena is hosting a concert of a band called Trickster City. Sitting in front of her locker is the lead singer Keaton Lowe. He is quite the character, and I have to say their instant attraction for each other made me laugh.

Here’s the thing for me. I know I am reading fiction, BUT there has to be some realism in the story for me to follow. Some logic or truth that I can get my head around. Keaton, from the moment he meets Thea, acts like he knows her, what’s going on in her head, and who she really is, like they might have been lovers before. I so wish that the author would have explained that aspect of their relationship more, or at least expanded on it. It is brought up again through out the book, like maybe they had meet in a past life, but not really ever explained truly.

That doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy other aspects of the story. I don’t read many BDSM stories, so I actually enjoyed reading about how a person discovers that they have this nature. This need to dominate someone for pleasure. Thea learns from Scarlett, the owner of a local sex toy store, what it means to be a Domme. I thought it was also an interesting twist on how Thea used her dominating personality to keep herself focused during the basketball tournament.

As Thea and Keaton’s feelings for each other grow and change, so does their dom/sub relationship. Thea’s immaturity didn’t appeal to me when she couldn’t get handle on her jealousy and insecurities, but she is young. Really young, like 18-19 years old, so the fact that she not only takes on the lifestyle of BDSM, she also takes on dating someone in the public eye. I found her dominating persona, bossy and rude, but Keaton seemed to like, and that’s what matters.

A singer helps me find my voice, and a player abandoned his game for a different kind of victory.

I gave this book 3-1/2  kinky stars and put it on my “middle-shelf-interesting-reads” shelf on Goodreads.

***I was given an ARC of this book from the publisher, for this blog tour, through Netgalley. Any quotes are from that version.***
