Tied by Emma Chase
In the fourth sexy romance by the New York Times bestselling author of Tangled and Twisted, Drew and Kate can’t wait to tie the knot—if they can survive the pre-wedding festivities.
For most of my life, I never imagined I’d get married. But Kate did the impossible: she changed me. I think we can all agree I was pretty frigging awesome before, but now I’m even better.
The road to this day wasn’t all rainbows and boners. There were mistakes and misunderstandings worthy of a Greek tragedy. But Kate and I made it through with our inexhaustible lust, boundless admiration, and everlasting love for one another intact.
That being said, there were some unexpected incidents in Vegas last weekend that could have been a problem. It was kind of… my final test.
I know what you’re thinking—what the hell did you do this time? Relax. Let’s not judge, or call for my castration, until you’ve heard the whole story.
And hold on tight, because you’re in for a wild ride. Did you expect anything less?
If you haven’t figured it out yet, then you’ve been missing out for sure. We f*cking adore Drew Evans here at BT. Seriously there isn’t another book boyfriend that makes me laugh like Drew. I didn’t realize how much I missed him until I started reading Tied. Don’t misunderstand, I loved Twisted. We got Kate’s side of the story, but I love being in Drew’s head more.
For my review, I am going to let Drew speak, because he is way funnier than me, even on my best day. Besides making me laugh out loud, just picturing Drew with his son James, makes me swoon. It should also go without saying, if you think that Drew is going to let a newborn come between him and Kate have “quality time in bed”. Drew and Kate not having sex would be a crime.
Without further ado, my favorite quotes and/or scenes from Tied:
“To be honest, I’m not exactly thrilled with the arrangements we have now, either.”
Thankfully, her tears have dried. The vise grip on my heart lessens. “You’re not?”
I shake my head. “I’m missing all of the good stuff. I go for days without seeing James awake for even a minute. It sucks ass. Like the other day, when he smiled for the first time.”
She tries to make me feel better. “That was just gas, Drew.”
“Of course it was, because boys think passing gas is funny.”
All of Katie’s pissed-off radiance turns back to the flight attendant. Her voice is low and deadly serious. “I put up with your shit on the plane because I didn’t want to spend the first hours of my vacation in the custody of federal fire marshals. But we’re not the plane now.” Kate holds up her left hand. “See this ring” It means that I belong to him. And the tattoo of my name on his arm means he belongs to me. All of him. His dick is a compass, and I’m due north—it only points to me.”
I walk around her like a predator circling a tasty morsel. “No, but if that’s what you’re wearing, I’m thinking about hiring a whole team of bodyguards for you.” I finger the pink, sequined crown on her head. It says BRIDE-TO-BE. “That’s a keeper.”
She touches it too. “Like that, do you?”
I imagine turning it into a game. Seeing how long Kate can keep the crown balanced on her head while I do unspeakable things to her. “Very much.”
“Dee-Dee got it for me.”
I shrug. “Even a broken clock is right twice a day.”
I have to say, I loved this book as much as the first book. It has everything I want in a Drew/Kate love story. Sex. Laughter. More sex. Drew with a baby. More Laughter. Even more sex.
Thanks Emma for giving us the best last book in a series!! Can’t wait to read what she is writing next.
***I was given an ARC from the publisher for an honest review. The excerpts are from that copy.***
I give this book 5 sexy/funny stars and put it on my “favorites” and “top shelf fantastic reads” shelves on Goodreads.
