I am so glad that Emma Chase was able to share her thoughts about Drew Evans and join us in our Blogiversary Celebrations.
Emma is a New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author of Tangled Series.
Let’s see what she has to say on the things she loves most about Drew and her favorite scenes.
There are many things I love about Drew Evans – too many to fit in a single post. But one characteristic that stands out, that summarizes most of the other loveable qualities is: unapologetic.
Drew is crudely honest, bold in everything he does, everything he feels. Whether it’s his professional drive, his passion for Kate Brooks, his love for his son, his regard for his family, or the never ending stream of opinions on all things – Drew calls it like he sees it, and makes no apologies for that. It’s an exciting quality in a man – frustrating at times to be sure – but absolutely attractive and admirable.
As an author, he’s a gift that keeps on giving. To be able to write a character who is charmingly irreverent and wonderfully unpredictable is pure joy. Most of the time, I don’t even know what he’ll say next – not until the words are on the page! And then I chuckle, shake my head or swoon.
My favorite scene with Drew is probably the Thanksgiving scene in Tangled. Not only because I find the scene itself hilarious – but also because it’s our first glimpse of Drew’s layers – that he’s more than just a workaholic womanizer. It’s the first time we see him with his family, with the apple of his eye niece Mackenzie. It’s heartwarming to read all the things he hopes for her, while at the same time hinting at his deeper feelings for Kate.
*dreamy sigh* Drew is Drew. He’s special and sexy and he knows it!lol
