Tell Me Something Tuesday with Elena: Books and Reviews…

Tell Me Something Tuesday

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings.

This topic is from a few weeks ago, but I find it worth discussing over:

Do you not finish many of your review books? Do you go ahead and review even if you don’t finish?

Usually I finish all my review books. When I receive ARCs from authors, and I decide to participate in the blog tours, I always finish reading the books. I couldn’t write a review without having read the book I talk about in it. I believe it’s the duty of us bloggers to express our honest opinion of what we’ve read, and, for me personally, that couldn’t be possible without having read the book from beginning to end.

When I don’t finish a book it’s because I don’t like it. And when that happens, I simply don’t review it. I don’t like focusing on the negative, and I don’t write reviews to critique an author’s work. I may not like a book, but others may love it. That’s why I prefer to review books that have touched me in some way. This is also our policy here on Bookish Temptations, and it perfectly reflects the way I feel about reviews. Even if we didn’t have this kind pf policy, I wouldn’t write negative reviews.

What about you? Do you finish your review books or not?

🙂

I try to always finish my review books. If I don’t, I won’t post my review on my blog. However, If I finished review book and did not like it, I would not hesitate to post my review, even if it was negative one. I believe that reviewers should be honest, that means sharing positive as well as negative reviews, while staying respectful of course.
