Secondary characters can play a crucial role in the storyline of our favorite books. These are the ones who made our best of 2014 list…
Katiebird’s Favorite Secondary Characters of 2014:
Great secondary characters are not easy to come by, but when any character in a book holds my attention and maybe even steals the scene, then that makes the book that much better for me. I also love when authors realize this and write another book just for them.
In no particular order….
Aunt Pattie from the Word series by Georgina Guthrie
Chris and Sarah from the Clipped Wings series by Helena Hunting
Warren and Bridgette from Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Simon Lewis and Brother Zachariah from City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
*side note* No they are not a couple, but for most people, Simon is not considered a main character. He is my favorite character in the whole series, so you’ll see him again on my Best Book Boyfriend list. Now Brother Zachariah is a new character introduced in the last book, but if you’ve read the Infernal Devices series from Cassandra, then you know that he is no secondary character. I adore him. *happy sigh*

I love Patty, too, from The Words series (but she’s “Patty”, and is Daniel’s grandmother, not aunt). LoL She gives some great advice and doesn’t hold back. I also love Penny. She likes to knock Daniel off his pedestal now and then.
Lord John Gray is also growing on me and I have downloaded some of the books in his Outlander “side series”.
