Tamie Reviews: The Librarian Principle by Helena Hunting + Giveaway!

Annaliese Harper knows that one tiny mistake can jeopardize a career before it’s even begun. Letting your boss find the extensive collection of porn on your personal laptop is one way. Sleeping with him is another. Liese manages to do both.

As the new librarian at a prestigious small-town private high school, Liese is drawn to her sexy, charismatic principal, Ryder Whitehall—an attraction she refuses to acknowledge given their relationship and her recent liberation from a delusional ex-boyfriend.

Liese is certain Ryder’s flirtation is the product of her sex-deprived imagination—until he discovers her digital porn stash during working hours and demands a private meeting. Behind closed doors, their attraction explodes into a dangerous, passionate affair that not only threatens their jobs and reputations, but most of all, their hearts.

a tamie's review tag This year was a great one for me in terms of finding new authors that rocked my world and were added to my favorites list. Helena Hunting was one of those. Her Clipped Wings series was my favorite of 2014 and the hero of the book (Hayden Stryker) was also my top book boyfriend. The emotional depth of those stories was unrivaled, and her story telling is truly exquisite. Those are reasons I was excited to read her newest book which released on December 21st.

The Librarian Principle is a completely different type of story, and I think that’s important for you to know before you read it. It’s romantic and sweet, full of lots and lots of yummy sexy times, and has just enough emotional tension throughout to keep you on your toes.

Ryder Whitehall is someone you’ll want to add to your book boyfriend list for many reasons. He’s unlike any principle I ever had, and that’s a good thing, because his idea of detention and punishment is very adult where Liese is concerned. He’s also very endearing as he struggles with two very disparate desires… to maintain his professionalism against his overwhelming attraction to Liese. He doesn’t always handle things very well, but in the end he comes through in the most satisfying way.

Leise is someone I liked in the beginning but grew to really love by the end. Her internal dialogue was hilarious throughout and really added to the story, but what I most enjoyed was how she came into herself as the book progressed.

There are also two really great secondary characters in Blake and Marissa. Blake is a teacher at the private high school, and the relationship between Ryder and Blake can best be described like this…there’s no love lost between them. The reason has to do with something that happened in their past which isn’t revealed right away, but by the end the animosity is replaced with respect and friendship, and I really enjoyed that. Marissa is a wonderful best friend to Leise. She’s the kind of friend we all wish to have, and I think her character was valuable beyond that.

The Librarian Principle is a book I’m recommending for it’s blend of LOL funny + high heat + sweet romance. It’s the perfect read to chase away the winter blahs 🙂
