Leah Buchanan’s family has been in service to vampires for five centuries. Even so, Leah wants nothing to do with her family’s legacy. But when she’s summoned to her Selection by the Vampire Dominion, under familial pressure, she has no choice but to go.

Lucien has been living under the strict edicts of the Vampire Dominion for centuries but he’s tired of these ancient laws stripping away everything that is the essence of the vampire.

So he’s taking it back.

And this is because Lucien has been watching and waiting for decades for Leah to become available for a Selection and he will not be limited with what he can do with her. He will have her, all of her.

Therefore, Lucien is going to tame Leah, even if he gets hunted and killed for doing it.

What neither Leah nor Lucien expects is the strong bond that will form between them, connecting them on unprecedented levels for mortals or immortals. And what will grow between them means they will challenge their ways of life and their union will begin The Prophesies which makes them one of three couples who will save humanity… or die in the effort.

Until the Sun Falls from the Sky is the first book in the Three series by Kristen Ashley. Just an FYI, this is a paranormal/fantasy/supernatural romance, and I don’t usually read paranormal/fantasy romance. But this is Kristen fraking Ashley we’re talking about and I gots to read everything she writes! KA has shown the ability that she can conquer and create a world for every genre with this book. It tells the story about vampire world, but this vampire world is a bit altered from all the others we see in movies and books. I loved it! This book had me hooked since the very beginning, I couldn’t put it down.

Leah Buchanan comes from a long line of successful concubines who have been in service to the vampires for five centuries, and she is scheduled to be at a selection where vampires pick who they’re going to take to feed on. If a concubine is selected, he or she will receive compensation and taken care of by their vampire for the rest of their life. Therefore, it is considered a prestigious thing being selected. But Leah despises the idea of one day becoming one. I think Leah is an amazing heroine. She’s funny, kind, thoughtful, and just so full of life. What makes me love her character even more is because she can be feisty and hot-tempered sometimes. It’s so refreshing to read from her point of view.

Lucien (a sexy as hell name, btw) is… what’s the word I’m looking for here… Awesome? Amazing? Incredible? He’s the mix of those three words together, though he can be an arrogant ass sometimes. He’s also an over 800 year old vampire who’s very at ease with himself and what he is, he’s sexy as hell, and most importantly he has a dirty mouth. Lucien has been watching Leah for 20 years, waiting for his chance to claim her as his. When the opportunity finally arises, he doesn’t screw around. He makes sure that Leah becomes his concubine. His character is a bit complicated and would make me mad sometimes, but I still loved him.

There are a lot of things that I love about Until the Sun Falls from the Sky. The first thing is that KA has done an amazing job in explaining about her version about vampire world. As usual she’s very detailed about it and the explanations came gradually through chapters instead of just dumped in one chapter. She really brings us a whole new world in her own creative way. Secondly, there is an insane sexual tension between the main characters even during the earlier time when they’re just getting to know each other. All in all Until the Sun Falls from the Sky is a fantastic read. I highly recommend it to all paranormal story lovers. This book really has it all; great romance story (I think what Leah and Lucien have is sweet and magical), amazing characters, and a terrific plot. Kristen Ashley never ceases to amaze me. This book gets 4 Kick Ass Alpha Vamp Stars from me!

“I’ve been waiting to have you since I knew you existed. But I’ve been waiting for someone like you for five fucking centuries. ”

“I love you, Leah. I’ve loved you for twenty years and I’ll love you for eternity.”

“Don’t try me,” Lucian warned in my head. “Kiss my concubine ass,” I returned in his.”

”You love me, I love you, we’re connected, what we have is beautiful and that’s all it’ll ever be. For eternity. Until the end of days. Until the sun falls from the sky, all you and I will share is beauty.”

“I’d never had more beautiful than what I have with you.”
