My Review:

Here is the story of my favorite character in this trilogy (here are my reviews for the first two books When You Are Mine and Loving You Always )… Cam. I know everyone hated him at first, myself included, but somehow, somewhere buried deep inside, I saw that flickering light. Kennedy slowly managed to bring him to our attention. Who doesn’t love a bad boy lol. Until now, it was all about the trio – two best friends Walsh and Cam and one woman – Kerris who torn them apart. Walsh and Kerris had their perfect HEA. Kennedy’s story was perfectly drawn. She introduced the fourth player Jo, just at the right time. And now, the story of the two continues.

In this third installment, we see Cam – the successful artist – not the boy who never fit into a wealthy family. With his talent, he has made a name for himself and that is very fulfilling.
But Cam is still tortured by Amelie’s death, especially now that he has to be part of Kerris and Walsh’s joy.
“Cam had a special talent for ruining beautiful things. Like the dark, beautiful images he painted on the sides of condemned buildings, destined for the wrecking ball. He was the wrecking ball. He had wrecked his marriage to Kerris. He had killed Amalie.”
Also he has to battle his childhood demons. Because of what happened, he’s too afraid of himself, of what he’s capable of. And that is why, even though he has deep feelings and a strong attraction for Jo, at the beginning he can’t allow himself to take it further, thinking that he will end up hurting her. And later he thinks that the right thing to do is to let his soul mate go. But oh how wrong he was! You know how they say…you can run but you can’t hide. That’s exactly how feelings are too. Unless you deal with them, there is no escape…it’s pure torture. And you’re condemned to a miserable life, always feeling incomplete.
“He’d known since he’d first met her at camp all those years ago that someone like Jo needed a guy he could never be. And he’d been stuffing these damned urges away ever since. He’d dated other girls, fucked other girls. Hell, even married one. But this had never really gone away, as much as he’d hidden it from everyone. Most of the time, hidden it from himself.”
Jo grew up with Walsh and Cam. They always looked out for her like she was their sister. She ended up to be a fabulous woman, every man’s dream. She started to fall for Cam when she was 15 years old, and in the 17 years that passed her feelings flourished.
“Jo had the steadiest eyes he’d ever seen. She’d been raised as the Walsh family princess and had grown into a queen. Her eyes held the kind of confidence most would never know or understand.”
It’s amazing to see how Cam’s demons disappear with every page of this beautiful story. Kennedy is a fantastic writer, you can feel every word. I wish I could quote the entire book :). I cried, I had WTF moments, screamed, chuckled a few times, everything a reader wants from a great book.

This was the perfect ending to The Bennett saga! Thank you Mrs Ryan 🙂

4.5 shining stars from me 🙂

Can a secret crush . . .

Jo Walsh has loved Cameron Mitchell for as long as she can remember. Whether front and center in her life or on the periphery, the tall, brooding artist has made his presence seductively and irresistibly known. But whenever they start to get close, Cam pulls away. Jo’s tired of keeping her feelings in a box Cam is afraid to open. If he wants her, he’ll have to prove it. And if he doesn’t, Jo will need to know the real reason why.

. . . become the love of a lifetime?

How do you walk away from your soul mate? Cam wishes he knew. No matter how far he runs from Jo, he can’t resist looking back at the silver eyes that seem to see right through him. But as well as Jo thinks she understands Cam, the dark truth about his past is something she shouldn’t have to handle. Cam’s sure that setting Jo free is the right thing to do. Too bad his heart has other ideas.
