One night, Callum is driven into the woods by instinct, an instinct to protect. In the form of wolf, he meets a young human child who he is instantly drawn to in a fierce way he doesn’t quite understand.
Sonia Arlington has lived a lonely life. She has certain abilities that make her strange and she has a rare disease that, if untreated, could kill her. Her father makes her vow that she will never let others discover her abilities. This forces Sonia to stay distant, always guarding against exposure.
Intelligence leaks that Sonia is Callum’s human mate. He is now King of the Werewolves and has war on his hands. He’s forced to claim his mate and integrate Sonia into a world that is strange and frightening.
As Sonia attempts to adjust, Callum attempts to cope with the knowledge that his mate is mortal. He will have her beauty and gentleness only the length of a mortal life making their union unbearably bitter even as Sonia makes it unbelievably sweet.
I’m gonna start this review by saying this:
I. Love. You.
There’s a reason for this, folks. Her books bring out all kinds of emotions. I cry, I laugh, I got pissed, I got confused, I got turned on; Sometimes all that at the same time. With Everything I Am I is no different. I knew that this one was gonna be great since the first time I read the synopsis. Sure enough, by the time I was finished, I was all like: “Holy shit!!! This book is perfection!”
The second book in “The Three” series, tells the story of Sonia (a human) and Callum (a very HOT immortal King of the Werewolves). They were destined to be together even before they were born. Having and falling in love with a human mate who has no knowledge of his world is difficult for Callum. That doesn’t change the fact that he will do everything to make her his, while laments the fact that they can only be together for the short span of her mortal life (my heart broke every time this fact is mentioned).
Sonia Arlington is special. She has gifts. She can hear better than any human beings, she can see in the dark and she has a keen sense of smell. No one knows about her gift, which made her feel like a freak and lonely. She is suddenly dragged into this immortal world she didn’t even know existed as Callum’s chosen mate and bride. I love Sonia’s innocence and humour, even though she had been through a lot in her life. Sometimes I’m frustrated with the fact that she always misinterpreted things. I know it’s not really her fault, what with all the new people in her life who said the craziest things. But still…
Everyone knows KA is the queen of alpha males, and Callum is about as alpha as you get. Callum (I’m going all swoony just at the mention of his name *sigh*) is a gorgeous, muscled, big, bad, hot King of the Werewolves. His duty to his kingdom comes first. And that’s what Sonia is to him at first, just another duty. That is until he falls head over heels in love with her. His protectiveness and love for her gave me shivers on more than one occasion.
This story is so passionate. Callum and Sonia’s chemistry and heat between the sheets is awesome, and this is some of the hottest sex scenes KA has ever written. Trust me on this, I’ve read every single one of her books. There’s also a good amount of drama, action and mystery.
KA can write anything in my opinion. However, this unique world that she has created in such vivid detail in paranormal genre proved that she has some mad skills in writing. Whether you are a paranormal story lover or you’ve never read one, please give this book a chance, it’ll surprise you in a good way. 4,5 swoon-worthy HOT werewolf stars!
“Every day, I would wake up and think you were perfect and every night I’d go to sleep thinking, somehow, during the day, you got even more perfect. If I could have wished what I thought was my perfect mate on the wind and had her come back to me in a storm, I could never had come up with anything as exquisite as you.”
“I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because your just… fucking… you.”
“The days, I can forget, baby doll. But the nights…” his voice dropped to a hoarse growl, filled with intense feeling, “the nights will be torture knowing I won’t have this for eternity.”
“My glorious queen, I told you we’d have a beautiful life, you and I.”
“Wolves mate for life. We never cheat. We’re never unfaithful. We never leave. We mate for life. Our instinct, everything that makes us, everything that is us centers around our mate, our pack, our family. It’s the only thing that matters. Not beauty, not youth.”
