Making Up For Monday: Banned

How do you feel about banned books?

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!! I find it distressing that in this day and age we’re even discussing this as a topic, but I know that it still occurs. I’m against it.

Your thoughts?

I don’t like the idea of anyone telling me that I can’t read something. I have my own mind. I’ll make up my mind on my own. Thank you very much!

  2. I think it’s ridiculous. With all the negativity and violence that we have to see and live with on a daily basis, it is pointless to ban a book that you actually have to dig into and use your imagination to take in. People have minds of their own (for the most part, lol) and it’s as simple as this… Whether it’s violence, language, or sexually explicit material, if you don’t want to read it, don’t freakin read it! Don’t take it away from people that actually do. Some of us just aren’t as sensitive to those things as others, and some of us actually prefer the darker and dirtier stories.

No, I don’t believe in banning books. I also don’t agree with being MADE to read certain things in high school. I think nowadays they should be more concerned teaching kids other things more relavent.

The strangest and most horrific things happen in real life. Why should they not be in a book? To hide those things is more wrong.
