Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.

She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?
For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.
Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air series.

After reading the Up In the Air series, I was already a fan of R.K. Lilley, but after reading Tristan & Danika series I just became an even bigger one. We get a glimpse of these two characters in Mile High, I just knew that their story was going to be sad and epic back then. Tristan & Danika series is very addictive, to say the least, so it’s a good thing that they were all released in 2014 for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of reading it.

Danika Markova is in her early twenties, working as a live in nanny and a student. She’s also wise beyond her age, what with some pretty sad things in her past that she’s been through. She is the kind of girl who only does relationships; no flings or friend with benefits thing. Having two very badly failed relationships, Danika is determined to stay single. That is until Tristan Vega walked into her life. Danika is such a sweetheart; she is sassy, confident, and refreshingly honest. She is just one of those very likeable heroines.

Tristan Vega is a club promoter (a very hot club promoter). He is in a band. He’s very charming, charismatic and has that bad boy vibe, trouble with a capital T. He has delicious tattoos and dimples to match. He is also has a good heart but the package doesn’t come without fault. Tristan has some commitment and anger management issues that got him into trouble more times than he can count. I like his character and all his flaws. There’s just something about this manwhore that makes you swoon and go all gooey inside. He’s one of the sweetest and sexiest leading men. Did I mention that he can cook? Yup, he cooks like an angel…

These two definitely have chemistry, and it is OFF. THE. CHARTS. With Danika’s honesty and sassiness and Tristan’s easy going nature, they instantly became best friends. But with all the sexual tension between them, it doesn’t take long before they became friends with benefits. They’re dysfunctional lovers that couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Of course it’s not all rainbows and butterflies after they admit their feelings toward each other. And that’s one of the things that I love about Bad Things, the conflict and problems are so well written.

If you loved R.K Lilley’s Up in the Air series like I do, then this is not to be missed. As for those of you who haven’t read any of her books, you definitely should read this one; everyone needs to meet Tristan Vega. I assure you, you won’t regret it. This book had all it needs to make it an absolute must read. I love Bad Things not just for the sexy stuff (and there are a lot of them. This book has some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve ever read), the characters were so well written, it made me fall hard for them. And Ms. Lilley knows how to write some good stuff that plays with your emotions. I cried, laughed, swooned and cringed when I read it. It was very engaging, entertaining and as I’ve mentioned before; addictive. 5 SEXY and STEAMY stars from me!

* For Up in the Air series lovers, Mr. Cavendish makes a few cameo appearances and this is the Mr. Cavendish before he meets Bianca in his slut days.*

“He smiled his best smile, the one that ruined me for every other smile in the world.”

“When its right, like it is with us, it doesn’t make your life harder, it makes it better, even when it’s hard. I’ve never been as happy as I’ve been with you and I don’t begin to know how to get past that.”

“I want you so badly that I’d do just about anything to have you.’ he said roughly. ‘The only thing I won’t do, though, is risk losing you. Can you promise me that if we do this, I won’t lose you?”

“I’ll always stick around for you, Danika. I mean that. You’re my best friend. No matter what, I’ll always be there for you, if you want me.”

“I need you. I’ve never needed anyone or anything the way I need you. I need you in a way that would break me if I ever lost you. Being with you makes every part of my life better. Every second I get with you is the best second of my life.
