Fan Fiction Friday: Why didn’t I read this one sooner?…

Hi kids!! It’s Meg’s post this week, and she is reviewing some really great “classic” fics that maybe you haven’t taken the time to read.

I know there are some fics on my TBR list that I am still hoping to make time for.

Take it away, Meg….

This week I decided to revisit my ever-expanding “to be read” list and see what has been on that list for far too long.

And I am embarrassed! I know these stories, or at least I feel like I do. Over the years fandom friends have raved about these, and I’ve quietly hung my head in shame because *whispers* I’ve never taken the plunge.

In no particular order, these are the stories that I can’t help but wonder – “Why have I waited so long?”

Fallout Banner
The Fallout by OCDindeed

Author’s summary: March 16/06 the world the Cullens knew ended. Faith, hope & love are powerful things. Edward finds out how powerful they are when he loses the one person who made his life worth living. Not just an E/B story. Entire Cullen clan is here, each with their own hardships. Set during a post-apocalyptic nuclear war. Try the Prologue before passing judgment. You might be surprised! NM/AU

I’ve always been a lover of post-apocalyptic stories, so this one is at the top of my list!

[KB: Check reviews we’ve done for this one here and here.]

the bitter, the sweet by Rochelle Allison

Author’s summary: Bella’s 24. She’s got a career she loves, close family & friends, and a little girl she loves more than anything. She doesn’t need anything more, but sometimes she sure wants it, and when Edward shows up he’ll either upset the balance or make everything sweeter. A WitFit.

I can remember the Twitter flails over this one, so it’s also going to the top of the list!

[KB: Surprisingly, I have not heard of this one, and I love Rochelle Allison! I’m going to add this one to my TBR list too.]

String Theory by theladyingrey42

Author’s summary: “Eleven dimensions. Infinite parallel realities. And in all of them, I love her.” Muppets, math, and physicists falling in love. Fluff and eventual lemons. ExB, AH.

I have adored everything theladyingrey42 has ever written, and I’m sure this one will be no different!

[KB: Annie’s fan fic husband, if I’m not mistaken. LOL]

Starry Eyed Inside banner

Starry Eyed Inside by Rochelle Allison

Author’s summary: High School Fictional. No one sends Bella into a tailspin quite like Edward Cullen… but can she make him hers? The ups and downs and all arounds.

Another story by the brilliant Rochelle Allison makes it onto this list, and I can’t imagine why I haven’t read this one as well.

[KB: Another one from Rochelle Allison that is amazing!!]

****Couldn’t decide on which banner I liked best, so I posted them both!****

Bonne Foi by Amethyst Jackson

Author’s summary: AU. Edward Masen was changed in 1918 and abandoned by his sire. He feeds on human blood, unaware of any other way…until he stumbles across college freshman Bella Swan for a night that will change everything.

I know. I KNOW. A fic classic. I feel like I should hand in my fandom card for never having read this one.

[KB: Personal favorite of mine and Debb’s. I think it might be the first alternate AU vamp fan fic story for me. It was a HUGE deal when it completed. Check out our reviews here and here.]

The TwiFic community has given us so many amazing stories over the past 5+ years, and missing a few is understandable, but I won’t let these classics go unread any longer!

What fic classics have YOU never read?

Well, Michelle. You have definitely got me thinking about classic fics and what stories have been sitting my TBR list that I should probably not put off reading. Love this post!!

Well you’re off the hook for at least a couple of those. Both Helena and Alice have published their stories! As for The Naked Guy, that is my all time favorite AH story! It’s still available to read I think. 🙂
