Maggie Brock has everything under control. Even her divorce, though painful at the time, registers only as a minor blip in her carefully constructed universe. Her life in Prairie Oaks has once again returned to a smooth, predictable pace…until an angel shows up in her bedroom.
The angel is just as bewildered as Maggie about why he’s been sent to her, but their unsuccessful efforts to gain understanding of the mystery fade to the background as their relationship grows. Soon, Maggie’s biggest problem becomes the angel himself, as her feelings for him develop into something less than saintly.
While Maggie struggles to keep her desires pure, a nefarious being lurks in the shadows of Prairie Oaks, watching and waiting for the opportunity to fulfill his ambiguous purpose. Preying on her conflicted emotions, the demon manipulates her at every opportunity, but the one to deliver Maggie directly into his hands is the last person she’d expect.
This was a book that I had purchased awhile ago. Not sure why it took me so long to get to it, but I sometimes feel like books find me at the right time. This isn’t the typical angel love story either.
Is there a magic number for the number of books in a series for you? Will you only read series with four or less books in a completed series? Do you prefer long series (10+ books)? Does the number of books in a series matter?
There You Stand by Christina Lee is book #5 in her Between Breaths series but like all her other books in the series it can easily be read as a stand alone. I LOVE this lady! I truly do. All her books are beautifully written. And same here for her debut M/M romance. And as Tamie stated on her review here, Christina has always given us great and amazing stories.
This week we remember those heroes who died while serving their country. I just thought it might be timely to also remember the people who still live but got injured during the battle. I am crushing on this one particular retired Marine corporal-Alex Minsky, who became a world renowned underwear model. At the beginning of his first tour of Afghanistan in 2009, his Humvee was hit a roadside bomb and his right leg was amputated.
Sure it was really fun looking at those sexy images splattered all over the web and magazines, but do you know their story? Mostly it’s all just beauty from the outside. I mean, of course there’s nothing wrong with that. But these particular images, they speak a lot. Check out his page by clicking here.
In the mean time… Hello American Hero Former Marine Alex Minsky! One Leg? I’ll take him over a lot of two legged men! oh dear god…… YES!
