The Only Exception by Magan Vernon

The fiery nineteen-year-old, Monica Remy,  transferred to Central College to escape her problems, blend into the crowd and forget the past. But escape becomes almost impossible when she attracts the attention of her new and undeniably sexy neighbor: Trey Chapman, the governor’s son.

Despite his vivid green eyes, adorable freckles, and athletic body, Trey is everything that Monica despises – haughty, conservative, bossy. And able to get under her skin in a way no other man ever could.

A class project forces the unlikely pair together, their chemistry building with each heated debate. But when the ghosts of Monica’s past come back to haunt her, both their beliefs will be tested, and both will be forced to see the world in a new light.

Their differences threaten to tear them apart, unless they can make one another their only exception.

The Only Answer by Magan Vernon

The sequel to the international hit, The Only Exception.

A boy burdened with a family legacy.
A girl haunted by a shattered past.
Both searching for answers to a future threatened by the unknown.

Three years ago, conservative Trey Chapman and liberal Monica Remy met their match in one another – and made the only exception that would change their lives forever.

Now, Trey’s father is running for president, forcing Trey and Monica to put aside their personal beliefs to be the model of perfection.

But fate has other ideas, casting the family in scandal.

Some seek to use that disgrace to further their family legacy, while others refuse to let go of the past. Trey and Monica soon find themselves lost among questions that challenge their true feelings. Will they be able to rediscover that the only answer lies with one another, or will they lose each other forever?

I don’t read much political fiction, but I felt like I was missing out on reading about intelligent people. Both Monica and Trey are very genuine in their opinions and very much spar well with their intelligence. I went into the first book wanting that, debate and banter. Throw in chemistry and UST, and you have me till the end. That is what these books did for me!
