Booking Through Thursday (5/5)

Do you keep a list of the books you’ve read? Books you want to read?

I use Goodreads to keep this information for me. It’s the easiest way I’ve found, and it never goes missing…unlike lists I make myself do 😉

What about you?

I keep a small notebook in my purse with lists about my books. I list the first 5 or so books in the series I’m interested in reading, and highlight the title when I buy it. I like paperbacks still and never am without one in my purse. If I’m shopping and find a title within 3 of the one I’m reading, or within 3 of one that is physically on my TBR shelf, I buy it. This way I don’t duplicate, don’t have to wait for the next book in a series, don’t go too far ahead of myself, and can take advantage of the awesome deals at HalfPriceBooks. I’m old-fashioned I guess and internet access is typically SLOW inside a store, so it’s faster and easier for me to pull out my notebook than it is to access my Goodreads shelves while standing in the aisle, lol.

I use Goodreads, and I like to look at the “Most read authors”, list. Sometimes, I check out what new books a forgotten, favorite author may have released lately. I love the monthly email, I get from goodreads, alerting me to new releases by authors I have read before.

  4. I use Goodreads as well. I have one big main TBR and then a TBR short list and rotate books when I need too. I also mark the read date by year for the ones I’ve finished. I find it’s the easiest way. I tried to do it on my own in Excel but it was a pain. I like Goodreads since I can see the covers and I’m a visual person.
