Raven and her sister, Cara, are at the mercy of a small detachment of Florentine vampyres, who are delivering them as a peace offering to the feared Curia in Rome. Though she s unsure William survived the coup that toppled his principality, Raven is determined to protect her sister at all costs, even if it means challenging Borek, the commander of the detachment.
In an effort to keep Raven from falling into the hands of his enemies, William puts himself at the mercy of the Roman, the dangerous and mysterious vampyre king of Italy. But the Roman is not what he expects . Alliances and enmities will shift and merge as William struggles to save the woman he loves and his principality, without plunging the vampyre population into a world war.
This stunning conclusion to the Florentine series will take readers across Italy and beyond as the lovers fight to remain together. Forever.
What an intense and wonderful conclusion to a beautifully written series.
From the moment that I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I finished in two days, while working. It’s that good!
Raven and William continue to put their lives on the line for each other. It is quite the journey to their happy ending. I think that this book is definitely the darker of the three. Up until now, Raven didn’t really see William as the vampire ruler of his city. She was sheltered from that part of his life, and now thrown into the middle of it with her sister.
I am a fan of SR for many reasons, but one that stands out with this series is the role of religion and faith. You don’t have to believe in God to understand the power that faith can have in a person’s life. Darkness and evil can come in many forms. Believing in the power of love can change one’s life in ways that you can’t expect. Some people may say that romance novels are shallow and unrealistic. Those people haven’t read SR books, because he never ceases to amaze me with his positive message of love and faith.
I can’t wait to see what this amazing author is going to write next!!
