Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Katiebird reviews The Collar by Tara Sue Me + Giveaway

The Collar Cover

The Collar by Tara Sue Me

The New York Times bestselling author of The Submissive returns with a scintillating new tale about power, danger, and jaw-dropping passion….

Nathaniel and Abby are struggling to navigate the challenging waters of their own relationship, when they get a surprising phone call from their partners in play, Dena and Jeff, who are in need of a helping hand…

Seven years ago, blonde, beautiful lawyer Dena Jenkins was tired of her carefully controlled life. Desperate for something exhilarating to help her escape the pressures of her demanding job and her senator father, she joined a steamy, local BDSM club as a submissive. There she met brooding Dominant, Jeff. The attraction between them was undeniable, and, despite Dena’s doubts, they couldn’t stay away from each other.

Except, as the years have passed, their blazing connection has proven difficult to maintain. Dena and Jeff have a history they’d rather forget, but Dena can’t let go of the past, and Jeff is ready to move across the country to give her space. Now, to save their passion, they’ll have to rediscover what it means to trust each other—and give themselves to each other completely…

The erotic genre is not something I read regularly, but I have been reading Tara Sue Me’s work for years. I love her style and storylines because there is more than just intense sex scenes. Let me tell you, they are hawt!!  While I don’t relate to being submissive, I can always connect to her characters in other ways. This is the fifth book in The Submissive series.

Amelia Reviews: Rock Bottom by R.K. Lilley

18943009

Made with Repix (http://repix.it)

Their love had the power of a runaway freight train, and the potential to be just as destructive.
The tempestuous sequel to Bad Things picks up where the first book left off. Reeling from a profound loss, Tristan and Danika struggle to pick up the pieces and build a life together, but the hard habits of a lifetime are not so easy to escape.

Rock Bottom takes us on a dual point of view journey through addiction and desire, through love and agony, and answers the question we’ve been asking since these characters were introduced in Grounded: “What happened between Tristan and Danika?”

DANIKA
Even love couldn’t cushion a fall like ours. My love for Tristan was so big that I felt consumed by it, and even so, it was not enough to overpower our combined demons. I struggled. I yelled and screamed. I scratched and kicked. I fought like hell, but even the most determined fighters have to stop before they break.  No one could say I didn’t fight for him.  “I love you,” I spoke softly into his ear.  He gripped me harder. “I can’t ever lose you, Danika. I’m not sure I’d survive it.”  “You’ve got me. And I’m not going anywhere. Not ever.” I meant the words when I said them, but life had other plans for us.  I’d have given my life for that fight. In fact, I very nearly did.

TRISTAN
She was the one.

If I’d ever had a doubt, I didn’t now. She was the one I’d be thinking about, longing for, until I took my last breath. If I lost her tomorrow, I’d pine for her like a lovesick fool.  This was the kind of love that only hit you once in your life.

Katiebird Reviews: Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

50_shades_grey

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

With the movie coming out next week, *happy dance* I was compelled to reread the first book of this amazing series that I fell in love with so long ago. Since I wasn’t a part of this blog when the books came out, I thought I would share my thoughts.
