synopsis

Callaghan. A name synonymous with power and fear. A family of untouchable criminals.

As a teenager, Gabriella Forte had no intention of getting to know the town’s most dangerous brothers. Once Dustin set his sights on her, she was trapped. There was only one way out of her personal hell.

Declan was determined to break away from his family’s shadow. Until he fell in love with the one woman he couldn’t have. She changed everything.

Life isn’t always kind. Love can hurt. Sometimes you need to sacrifice yourself to protect the people you care about.

It’s been twelve years since Declan did the unthinkable and went to prison. He promised to stay away from Gabby and his nephew. That’s one vow he can’t keep.

Things aren’t always what they seem. Facts are only as credible as the person stating them. The truth doesn’t always set you free.

Warning: This is a dark romance. If domestic violence bothers you, if you can’t read violence in literature, or you are looking for a light and fluffy read, this book is not for you.

Illustrated Temptations: One Night Denied by Jodi Ellen Malpas

image

I’m all giddily excited to share with you my pREVIEW of One Night:Denied by Jodi Ellen Malpas. This is the continuation of M & Olivia’s story from One Night:Promised.

I breathed and lived this book. I devoured the series. And I need more. It’s so hard to move on knowing that Miller Hart has already become my habit. And his thing, I shall say is so addicting. *wink*

If you’ve read Jodi’s other books, you know her style. Her men are stunningly intense. Loved every bits and pieces of them. Miller Hart is an addiction that I wanted to know more. I just wanted to state, matter of factly, that for me… Jodi’s writing is absofuckinglutely amazing. She’s a great story teller and I love how she divides the whole story into a trilogy. You are left wanting more after every flip of the page. But if you’re not a fan of major cliffhanger, oh well…you have been warned! 😉

I’m not a philosophical kind of bloke, but I know something about luck. A childhood on the wrong side of advantage will teach you that. It’s all a matter of chance. It’s both your circumstances and the chances you take. So I’ve always been a gambler and a ladies man — they love me and I love them. Now I’ve found one like no other — an American, Allison Wright. When I met her, the fates were on my side, but too soon I learned the odds were against me.

Illustrated Temptations: ROGUE by Katy Evans

Made with Repix (http://repix.it)

Happy Wednesday peeps! I hope everyone has already grabbed their copies of ROGUE – the fourth book in the REAL Series by none other than the amazing Katy Evans. What can I say, F.AWESOME. She did it again!!! REMINGTON TATE will always be my Number 1 fighter but GREYSON KING is a different story! I think he’ll be my Number 1 Prince Charming. *wink*

Not the Cinderella kind of Prince Charming because hello?! We live in the NOW and not in a “once upon a time, faraway kingdom” tralaland. lol

Okay, so aside from the fact that I LOVED the story (that’s a given). Of course I’m majorly in love with Katy Evans style of writing. It was written from both Greyson and Mel’s POV so it’s awesome that we get the story from both characters in one book. The storyline, wow. Perfectly flawed. Intense. Romantic. Fun. Just Brilliant. I am so invested in the intensity of each characters emotions. How the drama and action unfolds while all the secrets are being revealed was just smoothly executed. Katy Evans is one brilliant story teller. That is all.

Since I won’t be able to express into words how perfect the story is, please allow me to show you some teasers…

Enjoy!

Losing her father in Desert Storm has left Stephanie James with a bitter soul when it comes to the military. As a college senior juggling a full course load, Steph’s only goal is to graduate with honors at the end of the semester. She’s focused, determined, and a firm believer in all work and no play. Now that his father’s memory is fading, Brandon is even more determined to make his dad proud and graduate as an officer in the United States Army. Then he meets Stephanie, and suddenly, his focus is less on his military service and more on the pretty brunette who has stolen his heart. Blog Tour! Elena Reviews: Toxic ( Ruin #2) by Rachel Van Dyken + Giveaway

ToxicCover

The synopsis:

Everyone has a secret…

Gabe Hyde is on borrowed time. He’s been hiding his identity for over four years-hidden from the world that used to adore him–obsess over him–driven to the edge of insanity by one poor choice.
But that one choice, altered the course of his life forever.
Pretending isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when pretending means hiding your real self from the people that care about you the most. But if anyone ever discovered the truth it wouldn’t just be his life at risk–but hers.

Saylor doesn’t hate men.
Just Gabe.
Only Gabe.
He’s a reckless, happy-go-lucky, silver spoon fed pain in her ass. Everything about him makes her more and more confused. Unfortunately they both donate time at the same Group Home. If she wasn’t afraid of flunking, she’d be long gone. She hates that she’s attracted to him almost as much as he hates that he’s attracted to her–and she can tell, especially since their first encounter ended up making her knees so weak she couldn’t form coherent sentences for weeks afterwards. But the closer she gets to him, the more confused she becomes. He isn’t who he says he is, and he’s hiding something big.

What happen when two worlds collide? Two worlds that never should have met in the first place? Some secrets are too big to be hidden forever–the only question? Will his destroy everyone he loves? Or finally bring about the redemption he’s been craving for the past four years?

Everyone has a secret…What’s yours?

My review:

“Your identity is found in your heart. Not your job, not your status, your name, what your major is, how much money you have. Your heart has been the same the entire time. So, be who you’ve always been.”

I fell in love with Rachel Van Dyken’s writing when I read Ruin, a book that touched deeply both Tamie and me (you can find our reviews here). Toxic is the follow-up to this novel, and this is Gabe’s story.

We met Gabe for the first time in Ruin as Wes’s best friend, and he immediately captured my attention, so much so that he entered the list of my favorite secondary characters. So I couldn’t be happier that Rachel decided to give Gabe his own book.

Blog Tour: Elena Reviews: Compromising Positions by Mary Whitney + Giveaway

Compromising Positions Blog Tour Banner

Compromising Positions Cover

The synopsis:

We weren’t supposed to be friends. We weren’t even supposed to like each other.

I’m Michael Grath. I’ll admit I was elected to Congress on my Republican family history. I was out to make a name for myself, until I met Jessie Clark, a spitfire Democrat.

She’d be my nemesis, if I could just stop thinking about her. We’ve got nothing and everything in common, and one big issue that divides us. All of this is going to land us in more than one compromising position.

And like I said, we weren’t supposed to be friends, we weren’t even supposed to like each other, and we certainly weren’t supposed to fall in love.

My review:

“I’m hopelessly in love with you. Can’t you see it?”

Politics, Law, Compromises, Love, Passion, — Compromising Positions, the new Adult Romance by Mary Whitney, is a great novel that leaves the reader wanting more. This is no surprise to me, since I’m a big fan of Mary Whitney. She’s the Author of Beside Your Heart and Disclosure of the Heart, books that I truly loved.

She proves her writing talent also in Compromising Positions, which I give my thumbs up, and I encourage you to add it to your TBR list.
