Elena’s Picks: O…Those Love Scenes…(part 1)

Last week I shared some of my favorite kissing scenes in books and this time I wanted to share with you some of my favorite love scenes—scenes that make your blood pump fast in your veins…

To me a love scene doesn’t have to be detailed to be hot and sensual. I mostly focus on when it occurs in the story, what is the relationship between the two characters when they make love and of course, like in kissing scenes, I need to feel the chemistry between the characters in order for me to consider a love scene a well written one.

Here are some of my favorite love scenes in books. I warn you, have a fan handy because you’ll need it 😉

Elena’s Picks: Say it with a Kiss…(part 1)

How many times have we watched and re-watched kissing scenes in movies? Several of them have become iconic and still make us feel butterflies in the stomach. For a kissing scene to be good, we must see  the chemistry between the actors otherwise the result is kind of awkward…

Same goes with kissing scenes in books. How many times have we happy sighed while reading a kissing scene? A lot, I guess 😉 The kisses can be sweet, tender, feral, passionate… If a kissing scene is a well written one, it makes us feel the chemistry between the two characters, the love they have for one another, the passion that fuels…

Elena reviews: Perfect by Judith McNaught ( Second Opportunities #2)

A rootless foster child, Julie Mathison had blossomed under the love showered upon her by her adoptive family. Now a lovely and vivacious young woman, she was a respected teacher in her small Texas town, and she passionately lived her ideals. Julie was determined to give back all the kindness she’d received; nothing and no one would ever shatter the perfect life she had fashioned.

Zachary Benedict was an actor/director whose Academy Award-winning career had been shattered when he was wrongly convicted of murdering his wife. After the tall, ruggedly handsome Zack escaped from a Texas prison, he abducted Julie and forced her to drive him to his Colorado mountain hideout. She was outraged, cautious, and unable to ignore the instincts that whispered of his innocence. He was cynical, wary, and increasingly attracted to her. Passion was about to capture them both in its fierce embrace…but the journey to trust, true commitment, and proving Zack’s innocence was just beginning….

Elena reviews: Until You by Judith McNaught (Westmoreland #3)

New York Times  bestselling author Judith McNaught  sweeps readers from the wilds of America to elegant 1820s London in this unforgettable romantic adventure.

A teacher in a school for wealthy young ladies, Sheridan Bromleig  is hired to accompany one of hers students, heiress Charise Lancaster, to England to meet her fiancé. When her charge elopes with a stranger, Sheridan wonders how she will ever explain it to Charise’s intended, Lord Burleton.

Standing on the pier, Stephen Westmoreland, the Earl of Langford, assumes the young woman coming toward him is Charise Lancaster–and informs her of his inadvertent role in a fatal accident involving Lord Burtleton the night before. And just as Sheridan is about to speak, she steps into the path of a cargo net loaded with crates.

Sheridan awakens in Westmoreland’s mansion with no memory of who she is; the only hint of her past is the puzzling fact that everyone calls her Miss Lancaster. All she truly knows is that she is falling in love with a handsome English earl, and that the life unfolding before her seems full of wondrous possibilities…

This book is the third of the Westmoreland series and focuses on  Stephen Westmoreland, the Earl of Langford, whom we previously met in Whitney, My Love ( of which you can read my review here)  and who’s Clayton’s brother.  I quickly grew fond of his character when we were first introduced to him and so it was a great pleasure to see that Judith McNaught decided to give him a story of his own in  Until You.
