Fan Fic Friday: It’s All About Sequels…

So when I got it in my head that I wanted to do a post about sequels, I was so excited because I don’t read a lot of WIPs, but sequels seem to be the exception. There are some stories that totally own me, that I want to keep reading about these characters as much as possible. I love when authors are inspired to keep writing. It seems that I am not alone in this feeling, because when I asked Michelle and Deb24601 to share the sequels that they are reading, they felt the same way. GIVE ME MORE they said!! They were both very excited about telling everyone about these stories. *happy dance*

I should probably put a SPOILER warning here though, because if you haven’t read the first or original story, some of the plot might be given away. My hope is that if you like what you see here, you’ll read the original story, and share with the author that you found out about it, from here. Sharing is caring, right?

So I am going to be the good host, and let Michelle and Deb go first, then share my two WIPs at the end. There is a lot to talk about, so let’s get started…

FANFIC Friday: Debb misses WIPs and Annie brings the fluff.

It’s Friday, it’s Friday, it’s Friday!!! *throws Friday-shaped confetti* I’d like to thank Katiebird again for her epic guest post last week. Thank you sweets. I was knee deep in Age of Edward entries (fun, yes, but time consuming!) and really appreciated the little break. Of course, absence makes the heart grow fonder and I have been on the prowl for something new to share with all of you here.

First, I want to point out that I’m coming out of a long “I only read complete stories” phase. I’m not going to name names but I was under the influence of someone who rhymes with ‘Stinkersmell’. 😉 Anyway, I loved getting caught up in the frequent updates while Caveward was posting and found myself in a bit of a void (or a hole, if you will. See what I did there? Caveward? Stuck in a hole? Ignore me) now that it’s complete.

After some soul-searching *snort* I realized I missed having updates in my box. I missed waking up and thinking “It’s Tuesday! YAY, blankity blank is going to update”. I missed reading WIPs.

It’s more than just getting the updates though. I like taking the journey with the author, reviewing early chapters and sometimes hearing back from them. Writers really crave the feedback and I sometimes think about good stories that maybe were abandoned because the author didn’t get the encouragement they deserved. *Edward voice* They can’t read our minds. We have to tell them what we think.

So, I hit the jackpot with these two stories and I’m so excited to share them with you. I really hope you’ll read these along with me. First up is a vamp fic that came to me through Annie (Annie: You like vamps, right? Me: Vamps are cool)

My Mate by PrincessRachael

After 300 years, Edward finds his mate in young vampire Bella. But the mating rituals of vampires will test their strength and belief in each other. Rated M. Author’s Note – The idea of vampire mating has always fascinated me. I love the bond that’s created between the pair. I’m borrowing a few ideas from Christine Feehan’s world. And WARNING – I sometimes get a little heavy on my lemons – so be forewarned. This story is not for the young. The entire story will run about 30 chapters and I will update weekly.

Lots more after the jump
