Elena Reviews: Monster in His Eyes (Book 1) by JM Darhower

MIHEFRONTThe synopsis:

Ignazio Vitale is not a good man.

I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I’m thinking before I even do.

It’s alarming and alluring. It’s dark and deadly. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession.

It doesn’t take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it’s too late. He has secrets, secrets I can’t fathom, secrets that make it so I can’t walk away. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that’s both terrifying and thrilling. He’s a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.

I want to hate him.

Sometimes, I do.

But it doesn’t stop me from loving him, too.

My rating: 5+++++ glittering stars

5 +++ stars

My review:

“There’s something about you…something I’ve sought for a very long time. Something I’ve always wanted. And now that I’ve found it, I don’t know if I can let it go.”

Let me say that JM Darhower is one of the best Authors of this generation. Since I read the Sempre Series, I became completely fascinated by her sublime writing style and addicted to her characters and story lines. With Monster in His Eyes, she proves once again to be an Author that not only does write a story, but also she makes you FEEL it, in the real sense of the word.

I rarely add pluses to an already 5 star rating, but this novel deserves so much more than 5 stars. Monster in His Eyes is the kind of book that gives you a real book hangover, the kind of book you carry in your bag wherever you go, so you can sneak in a few pages whenever you get the chance. The kind of book that becomes an addiction. It’s the first instalment in the duology, and it’s different from the previous ones Darhower wrote, because it’s an adult and dark romance.

Illustrated Temptations: Sempre: Redemption by J. M. Darhower

20131218-052301.jpg

Hello peeps! Just like the usual, since we are on the week of J. M. Darhower’s Blog Tour I think it’s just appropriate to show you a PREVIEW of her new released book–Sempre: Redemption.

I LOVED IT!!! It’s riveting, consuming, powerful…just the way how I expected it to be. Gawd!!! This is one of my mostly anticipated book of the year and it’s so worth the wait. BTW, click here first if you haven’t read the first book Sempre. YES, this is the final conclusion of Carmine and Haven’s not so typical love story. This sequel as a whole is about love, hope, redemption, family, loyalty, honor and so much more. I won’t be able to do justice if I describe how perfectly it was written.

I won’t spoil anything for you so your safe.;)

Elena’s Musings: Series and Stand Alones…

When authors write novels, they can decide between two options: create a series or leave the stories as stand alones. As a reader, I enjoy both. I have to say that the majority of my favorite stories are series, for example The Gabriel Series by Sylvain Reynard, the Fifty Shades trilogy by E. L. James, The Remembrance Trilogy by Kahlen Aymes, The Sempre Series by JM Darhower,The Thoughtless Series by S.C. Stephens, and these are just a few — there are many, many more. What I love about reading a series is that I don’t have to let go of the characters after just one book. I’m the kind of reader who gets really invested in the stories I read, and it almost emotionally hurts me when I have to say goodbye to my beloved characters. It’s like seeing off at the airport a person you love, knowing you won’t see them again. OK, this is a bit dramatic, I admit, but you get the idea. With a series however? I know for certain that the story doesn’t end in one book. I know that there will be at least two other instalments (and sometimes more) where the characters will keep me company, will make me laugh and cry, will make my heart beat faster, will make me dream…Bliss, right? 😉

Elena reviews: Extinguish by J.M Darhower

Extinguish cover

The synopsis:

One… Two… Three… Four…

I Declare War

Serah always believed the world around her was perfect. As a Power, one of the warrior angels, she has spent her existence defending the innocent from evil. After tragedy strikes, tearing Serah’s brother from her life, she’s given the task of stopping the approaching apocalypse before it’s too late.

Only one thing, though: she has to venture to Hell to do it.

Lucifer—or Luce, as he prefers to be called—has been biding his time in Hell, longing for revenge against those who oh-so-easily cast him into the pit. When the heavenly beauty shows up at his gate, he’s just as captivated by her presence as she becomes of him. The attraction between them is palpable, and Serah’s willpower slowly slips. How can this charming creature, this scarred Archangel, be the one annihilating the world she so loves?

As the war wages on, the world entwined in chaos, Serah starts questioning everything she ever knew. When the light and dark, hot and cold, finally collide, she has to make a choice—a choice that sets her world on fire, black and white exploding into colorful flames.

Serah has questions. She wants answers.
Luce just wants to play a game.
