Review: The Accidental Vampire by Lynsay Sands

Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black’s been catching her z’s in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there’s more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can’t very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette. But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she’d meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman, dead or alive.

Rich, powerful, and drop—dead gorgeous, Victor’s the perfect man for a novice neck—biter like Elvi. He’s willing to teach her everything he knows, but he’ll have to do it fast. Someone’s out to put a stake through her new vamp life, and only Victor can keep her safe and satisfied for all eternity.

This book is seventh in the Argeneau series, but Ms. Sands has been kind enough to write each book as a stand alone. There are reoccurring characters but you do not need to read entire series, or even in order, to get what’s going on. Of all of the books I read in this series, this one stood out for me. Find out why, after the jump.

Review: Suddenly A Spy by Heather Huffman

On her wedding day, Veronica Sinclair thinks she has it all: the loving family, the Vera Wang dress, the hunky husband. But then a mysterious and beautiful woman shows up at the reception, suggesting Veronica’s new hubby isn’t exactly who he says he is. As if that weren’t enough, Veronica and Richard must flee gunmen in the middle of their honeymoon, convincing Veronica she got more than she bargained for when she said, “I do.”

Thrown into a world of espionage, seduction, and human trafficking, Veronica must fight for the life and husband she thought she had – and she must discover whether they are the life and husband she truly wants.

I was introduced to Heather Huffman’s books about a year ago thanks to “Gabriel’s Inferno” author Sylvain Reynard, who recommended  Throwaway. I decided to give it a try and I loved it. I loved the characters, the story, the message of the book–it is truly a great read. I was curious to see whether Heather Huffman would have delivered another thrilling and engaging tale in Suddenly A Spy and I can safely say that my question was answered with an enthusiastic YES! Huffman proves to be an excellent writer that sucks the reader into her stories with her beautiful writing, believable characters, great romance and exciting adventures.

This is the story of Veronica and Richard, a loving and newlywed couple  whose world is turned upside down when some unexpected revelations begin to surface…revelations that could endanger their lives and put their marriage to a test. How much are they willing to sacrifice and at what cost will they fight for their love?
